The 28 gauge shotgun shell, while over a hundred years old, is the up-and-coming round in the shotgun world. Its used in both skeet shooting and upland bird hunting, and provides a valuable alternative to the traditional in both.

Although not as popular as other small bore shotgun shells, the 28 gauge is capable, effective, and easy to shoot. It continues to grow in popularity and more shooters find a use for it year after year, primarily due to the instinctual way firearms chambered for the round fire.

TCU Womens Rifle made history in 2010, becoming the first NCAA Rifle Champions with a team of all women. The Frogs would go on to win national titles again in 2012 and 2019, again, with all women at the line.

When it comes to that legacy, sophomore Katie Zaun believes, Thats something to brag about for sure.

Fast forward to 2021, 2022 and 2023, where TCU Rifle would claim second place at the NCAA Championships.

Fifth-year senior Stephanie Grundsoe experienced them all.

We have put in so much effort this year and last year and the past years that Ive been here, she said.
