"'[C]ivilians are not allowed to possess machine-guns, military rifles and handguns … private possession of semi-automatic assault weapons [and] private possession of handguns (pistols and revolvers) is prohibited,' the site advises. Add to that licensing, background checks and registration for what they are allowed to own, a prohibition on concealed carry and stiff criminal penalties for gun law violations, and Nigeria appears to be a land where the results of such 'progressive' policies should be evident for all to see and emulate." ...

"Today’s Seattle Times shows that they’re back to calling gun control by its alias, 'gun safety,' in a story about ten things to watch as the legislative session unfolds, while in Colorado, the press in Glenwood Springs remains intellectually honest by noting that Republicans are opening their session by 'moving fast to repeal gun-control legislation Colorado Democrats passed two years ago.'" ...

"... The idea that you can gain emergency access to a handgun in a finger safe, load it quickly and effectively then bring it to bear on the bad guy(s) during a home invasion is as good an example of dangerous optimism as I can imagine without going full Wallenda. ... "So guns are tools…we all know that. They can be much more than that, and we all know that, too. As tools, guns are unique. A wrench doesn’t take any thought at all to deploy. Owning it does the trick. There is always time to fetch it when you need it, and I don’t worry about my 10-year-old picking it up. And I have never, never, ever had a wrench fail to, um, wrench. None of that is true for guns. This is why people that are freaky about guns don’t buy it when we say 'guns are just tools'. There is a little more to it than that, isn’t there?" ...

"Many people grow nostalgic for their first gun, and again when they receive their first NFA stamp. I cannot deny that that is the case with this suppressor. While it was not the first I had purchased, it was the first to come back approved due to the expedience of an E-Filed Form 4. For those who are not familiar with the manufacturer, Huntertown Arms is a small company building suppressors in Fort Wayne Indiana. Suppressors are basically all they manufacture, and they do so at a price point that easily trumps most other competitors. In fact, the Guardian 9mm suppressor in this review has an MSRP at only $349 . . ." ...

Between Tom Clancy, Metal Gear Solid, and the US SOCOM pistol trials, there has been a never ending craving to own what has been heralded as the best, most durable, most accurate, most awesomest combat pistol ever created. "Right around 2007, the U.S. Army started putting a new bullet into the field. Improving on the standard SS109/M855 ball ammunition, the new loading used a lead-free projectile with a steel insert and saw improved performance as well as better penetration over the old faithful. There was much rejoicing. After five years of active use in the field, it looks like the Army’s new round might have infringed on a previous patent by one-time TTAG ammo sponsor Liberty Ammunition. "The most recent attack by terrorists in a western nation has come to an end with the deaths of the primary killers and, as can be expected in such things, the deaths of many innocents, including hostages. Special Operations forces around the world have a common aphorism: 'it sucks to be a hostage' because so often, so many of them are killed, and so it was in the Paris terrorist attacks. Someone from a state that is more restrictive in their citizens’ firearm rights will lament being unable to obtain a treasured item, or will ask if it will soon be shipping in a form that remains compliant with their state’s laws. The most common response from those who reside in a free state where such restrictions are not a factor is something like, 'quit whining and move.'
