The parents of a little boy critically injured when a police grenade landed in his crib are speaking exclusively with Channel 2 Action News.
They’re talking about a grand jury’s decision not to press charges against any of the deputies involved in the accident.
Channel 2′s Kerry Kavanaugh has been following story for months.
She traveled 800 miles to the boy’s new in Janesville, Wisconsin, where the family says they will continue to fight for justice.
The family told Kavanaugh that they felt like victims all over again when a grand jury announced they would not file criminal charges. They have been home in Wisconsin since July. Much has happened in the case since they left Georgia. |

"Four Pennsylvania teenagers were arrested on Wednesday and charged with trying to mug a state legislator who exchanged gunfire with one of them in the late-night incident, police said."

As unlikely as it may seem to those of us who pay attention to Second Amendment issues, there may still be some Florida Mayors Against illegal Guns (MAIG) Mayors who have been mislead by lies fed to them by Bloomberg's anti-gun group. We have the emails sent to Florida Mayors from MAIG claiming that they support the Second Amendment, we even have emails from known anti-gun Police Chiefs and Sheriffs reassuring some mayors that MAIG is just "helping to target illegal guns, not legal gun owners". |

A homeowner shot and critically injured a man early Thursday who was trying to break into his home, police say.
Police say the attempted home invasion happened at about 1:40 a.m. Thursday in the 1600 block of Helen Street. The area is close to Cass and North Florissant avenues.
The injured man was taken to St. Louis University Hospital after being shot in the face. Police say he was in critical but stable condition.
The homeowner wasn't arrested. The shooting could be considered justified under the castle doctrine, Missouri's expanded self-defense law. |

October 16, at 10:30 a.m., the DC City Council will hold a public hearing to consider Bill 20-930, the “License to Carry a Pistol Amendment Act of 2014.”
Despite sounding like a step in the right direction, this act’s name is deceptive. Its language is rife with bureaucratic hurdles, including long mandatory training requirements, as well as requiring applicants to undergo the already restrictive and burdensome process of registering a firearm in the District. |

I am grateful to the Commission for the invitation to share my views on the subject of Stand Your Ground (SYG) laws. These laws now exist in the majority of the States, and they have had a measurable impact on deadly violence and the criminal justice systems in many of them. I will begin with a basic explanation of what these laws say, especially how they differ from the long-established law of self-defense in Anglo-American law. I will then examine the empirical evidence concerning how SYG laws work; this evidence has emerged in just the last couple of years. I will then discuss implicit bias, which is the source considerable racial disparity in the enforcement of SYG laws, and the rest of the criminal justice system. |

A federal judge in Idaho found that the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers practice of not allowing lawful carry of firearms on land controlled by the agency is in violation of the Second Amendment.
The ruling was handed down this week in the case of Morris v U.S. Army Corps of Engineers decided in the U.S. District Court for the District of Idaho. It involved two plaintiffs, Elizabeth Morris and Alan Baker who filed suit in 2013 after they wrote to the Corps commander for the area to obtain permission to carry a functional firearm on recreational land they intended to visit and did not receive a reply. |

D.C. Police Chief Cathy Lanier says taxi drivers should be banned from carrying concealed handguns.
Lanier made the recommendation during a hearing on a bill that would allow District of Columbia residents and visitors to get concealed handgun permits for the first time in nearly 40 years.
At Lanier's urging, the bill also includes restrictions on carrying guns near dignitaries or at high-profile events. But she says carrying a weapon should be restricted areas where carrying a weapon would be prohibited to the grounds and parking lots surrounding government buildings. |

MADISONVILLE, Texas - The Madisonville Police Officer facing charges after the death of his K-9 partner has resigned.
Officer Gary Laws resigned Tuesday. He was officially charged with misdemeanor animal cruelty on Wednesday. Walker County Assistant District Attorney Stephanie Stroud said Laws was arrested Wednesday afternoon, and released on bond a short time later.
Investigators say Laws left his police dog, Baron, inside the patrol unit when he came home from his overnight shift on September 12. Baron was trapped inside the car for four hours. The temperature outside reached the mid 90’s.
"The dog ultimately died of heat stroke, or heat exhaustion," said Stroud
