A militia billing itself as a security force is vowing to protect the Second Amendment.
The Three Percent Security force, named after those who fought in the American revolution (It's said - only three percent of the colonists fought against the king's tyranny) says they're preparing to "uphold and defend the constitution from all enemies, foreign and domestic."
They train like a military, "basic infantry man skills, everything from communications to combat lifesaving medical first aid."
Founded in Henry County, the group started out as an anti- President Barack Obama group, before openly supporting President Donald Trump's run for President. ...
The group said they'll vow to protect the Second Amendment, even under Trump.

Important pro-gun legislation has passed out of the House Civil Justice Subcommittee and will move to the full House Civil Justice Committee for consideration. Your NRA-ILA will update you when this legislation is scheduled for a hearing.

House Bill 752, sponsored by state Representative Tilman Goins, would allow a person, who is granted an order of protection and who is not otherwise a prohibited person according to state or federal law, to carry a firearm for 60 days after the initial order of protection is issued. This would allow a person under an order of protection to exercise his or her right to self-defense while allowing time to complete the Tennessee handgun carry permit process.

Two separate bills, one in the House and one in the Senate both propose flipping the burden of proof from defendants to prosecutors in stand your ground and self-defense cases, potentially stopping the cases, from ever going to trail.

George Zimmerman, Michael Dunn, and Curtis Reeves all claimed either "self defense" or "stand your ground" in cases where they shot and killed someone during a confrontation.

Recently introduced in the Kansas Senate is Senate Bill 210, the Senate version of anti-self-defense House Bill 2150. While this legislation has not yet been referred to a committee, NRA members and Second Amendment supporters are encouraged to contact their state Senator and politely urge them to oppose SB 210 when it comes up for a vote.

Similar to HB 2150, SB 210 seeks to make it unlawful for individuals to carry a firearm for self-defense into the Kansas University Hospital. This bill is a solution in search of a problem, and it places an arbitrary boundary on your right to self-defense.

A federal appeals court is backtracking on Maryland’s law banning semi-automatic rifles, including the AR-15. The law was passed in 2013. The fourth circuit court of appeals once voted to overturned it but after re-hearing, re-instated it.

Two southern states might make changes to laws allowing one to carry firearms on college campuses. There’s a proposal in Georgia to allow campus carry for people with permits. In Arkansas, lawmakers might make university faculty and employees undergo 16 hours of training, if they want to carry on campus.

For the first time, a federal court has explicitly ruled that the Second Amendment does not protect the right of civilians to own firearms classified as “weapons of war.” In upholding Maryland’s ban on private sales and ownership of so-called assault weapons and high-capacity ammunition magazines, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit decreed that they fell within the category of “weapons that are most useful in military service,” a phrase contained in the U.S. Supreme Court’s 2008 Heller v. District of Columbia decision.

Montana’s governor on Thursday vetoed two gun bills – one to let people carry concealed weapons without a permit and another to allow weapons on federal property.

While saying he will “fiercely defend the Second Amendment rights of our citizens,” Democratic Gov. Steve Bullock wrote in his veto: “I cannot support an absurd concept that threatens the safety of our communities by not providing for the basic fundamentals of guns safety or mental health screening.”

Gun owners with conceal-carry permits from anywhere in the US would be allowed to tote their pistols around the Big Apple as if it were the Wild West under a proposed federal law — which Manhattan DA Cyrus Vance Jr. warned would be “a mistake.”

Gun owners are currently barred from carrying weapons in Gotham without a city permit, which have stringent requirements.

But the Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act — which mirrors President Trump’s own stated opinion — would allow anyone with a valid carry permit to use it in all 50 states, just like a driver’s license.

Thousands of people will visit the Baton Rouge area next weekend for the National Preppers and Survivalist Expo.

Experts believe there are four million survivalists nationwide and another three million off the grid homesteaders throughout the nation. Many Americans are taking steps to be self-reliant, meaning when it comes to natural disasters and man-made threats, families don't have to completely rely on organizations such as FEMA to get by.

While attacks on the Second Amendment are all too common in today’s politically charged climate, advocates fighting for our right to self-defense and the right to bear arms now have a powerful new tool in The War On Guns: Arming Yourself Against Gun Control Lies, the latest book by John R. Lott Jr. Roughly two-thirds of the book is centered on analytic proof and commentary that gives backbone to Lott’s thesis that a concerted campaign is being waged by politicians and bureaucrats with gun-control agendas.

The bill would forbid the manufacture, sale or possession of any detachable “ammunition feeding device” that can hold more than 10 rounds. Anyone in possession of such a device or components thereof including licensed firearms dealers would have 120 days after the bill is signed by the governor to remove the high capacity magazine from the state; sell it to a licensed dealer; or surrender it to a law enforcement agency for destruction.

If you hold a medical marijuana card in Arizona, you cannot possess a firearm.

This may come as a surprise to you, said Sherrie Seibert, co-owner of Insight Firearms Training.

“We’re seeing customers coming into the store … and have no understanding, because either they are uninformed or misinformed, that, when they hold a (medical marijuana card) … they are a prohibited possessor by federal law.”

Anyone in Iowa could use deadly force anywhere if they believe such force is necessary to avoid injury or risk to one’s life or safety under a bill including a stand-your-ground provision.

A subcommittee in the Republican-controlled Iowa Legislature approved the comprehensive gun measure, House Study Bill 133, on Thursday, and supporters said the law provides much-needed clarity on the right to protect and defend. But opponents worry it’s giving a license to kill.

Today, the Senate Judiciary Committee passed Senate Bill 345. Sponsored by state Senator Mark Maynard (R-6) SB 345 seeks to expand Sunday hunting opportunities on private land with written permission. Currently, West Virginia allows hunting on Sundays in some counties on some private land. SB 345 would remove the confusing patchwork of counties where hunting on Sundays on private land is not allowed. SB 345 now moves to the full West Virginia Senate for consideration. Please contact your state Senator and urge them to SUPPORT SB 345.

A bill proposed by state assemblywoman Melissa Melendez of the 67th dist., will make California a “shall issue” state for concealed carry weapons permits. Presently, a Sheriff can deny a permit application for any reason. Self defense as a reason for a CCW permit is not sufficient of a reason alone for approval by San Diego Sheriff Bill Gore is unless there are documented threats. This is what is posted on the San Diego Sheriff’s website. See report by CW6 reporter Gary Buzel.

A bill dealing with a wide range of gun-related issues was the subject of a sometimes emotional hearing Wednesday at the Statehouse.

Representative Matt Windschitl, a Republican from Missouri Valley, is a leading gun rights advocate in the House. Windschitl said his aim is to “protect Iowans.”

“This is a work in progress. This is not the final product,” Windschitl said to open the meeting. “We are here to take input, take suggestions and then take it back to the members of the House and find out where we can move forward in advancing Iowans’ Second Amendment rights.”
