Since the inception of commercial air travel, airlines have enforced strict dress codes for employees and non-revenue passengers. Apparently, anti-firearm activist Shannon Watts wants to revise history and believes that the rules for flying on the company dime are in some way ultimately offensive to women and is an indication that the end is near.

Evil is hard to accept. I attended a self-defense training class last week where an expert described how callous and downright evil violent criminals can be. I don’t think I’m a coward, but recognizing evil takes an emotional toll. I’m not alone in feeling that way. Gun “prohibition” laws give us psychological relief from facing evil. Projecting evil intent on an inanimate object protects us from having to recognize violence as part of the human condition. By contrast, recognizing evil strips away our innocence and imposes obligations on us. This psychological dynamic explains a lot about the political dynamics behind gun control. Gun control continues to appeal to a certain type of person despite its record of failure.

Violence in Baltimore, Detroit and Chicago are not the fault of a lack of gun laws. But if you try to carry a gun for self-defense in these cities you are the one likely to end up in jail. Even driving through New Jersey with a gun can land you in jail.

The Second Amendment doesn’t have a lot of confusing phrases, after all, it is only 27 words. 17 of those words are four letters or less. It is quite a plainly phrased fundamental right.

Four years ago, Maryland passed some of the toughest gun restrictions in the country, including a ban on the sale or manufacture of ammunition magazines large enough to hold more than 10 rounds. The intent of the law was to curb supplies of so-called high-capacity magazines in places like Baltimore, where at least 189 people died that year in shootings.

This is the Colt U.S. M1911 .45 ACP pistol Burgett carried throughout his combat experience with the 101st Airborne Division in Europe during World War II. Nickel-plated and acquired by his father, the pistol was mailed to Burgett in Aldbourne, England, the day before D-Day.

A man should have heroes. And I am proud to say I have come to know some of mine. With familiarity only comes deeper respect.

There’s more reason to treat gun violence as a public-health issue. Gun injuries result in billions of dollars of health-care costs, which affects not just the injured or killed but often takes money that hospitals might use for other patients.

Violence and Utopia- Realism and Idealism in The Age of Gun Control

Criminals and gun control activists prey on our innocence. Violence is real. It is serious. And, it is hard to see.

On one hand, we can view the world as imperfect and slightly dangerous. A realist takes responsibility for his or her own safety.

On the other hand, we can cling to a utopian view of the world. An idealist says that it is society’s duty to protect him from violence. The idealists not only hates the tools of violence, but he hates those of us who carry those tools for personal protection.

Which one is right?

The latest design from CRKT is the Rakkasan tactical fixed-blade knife, which is designed by Austin McGlaun of Georgia. The knife came about through some unique inspiration. First, the name "Rakkasan" is the translation of a Japanese phrase from WWII, which means "Umbrella for falling." This was the moniker given by Japanese troops in WWII to American paratroopers, who fought them in such an unconventional way.

On March 16, 2017, the Seattle Times reported that Seattle city officials were reluctant to release data on the revenue generated by the city’s firearms and ammunition tax, citing taxpayer confidentiality concerns. Less than a week later, we now know the more likely reason that Seattle failed to disclose this tax revenue; because the money raised fell woefully short of the figure projected by supporters of the tax.

Cleveland city officials held a news conference Monday afternoon following a weekend of violence. Mayor Frank Jackson said the availability of guns, especially to juveniles, was a key factor in the recent shootings. “Just go out on the street and just talk to a bunch of young males, 15, 14, 16, 17, ask them about a gun. If they don’t have one on them, they’ll tell you where you can get one,” Jackson said.

South Dakota representatives couldn't find enough support to override Gov. Dennis Daugaard's veto of a bill that would have allowed people to bring guns into the state Capitol. The House voted 42-27 Monday to override the veto, short of the two-thirds majority required. The bill would have let people who have an enhanced permit bring concealed handguns into the Capitol if they registered beforehand with security.

No human rights can exist without property rights. Since material goods are produced by the mind and effort of individual men, and are needed to sustain their lives, if the producer does not own the result of his effort, he does not own his life. -- Ayn Rand
