Bigotry works for politicians. Blaming the innocent worked after the civil war. White Democrats promoted fear of newly freed blacks. Bigotry works today. Now, black Democrats promote fear of free blacks who will defend themselves and the people they love.

The man who fatally stabbed a teen inside an Internet cafe — and went right back to fiddling on his computer — was cleared by a Queens grand jury of any criminal wrongdoing, officials said Friday.

Paul Kim, 51, was allegedly acting in self-defense when he plunged a small knife into the gut of 19-year-old Yangpu Fan last month at the K&D Internet Cafe during an argument over a seat, according to his lawyers.

Surveillance video of a gas station shootout shows the shocking final moments before 43-year-old Ronald Morales was shot dead.

Police say no charges will be filed against the other shooter—whose name was not released—because he acted in self-defense. It’s unclear why the situation escalated so quickly, but Morales was killed in the April 8 shooting at a BP gas station in Elmwood Park, Illinois.

STI International has teamed up with self-defense and weapons training expert Chris Costa to design the new Costa series of pistols.

The Costa Carry Comp features an island sight, which is attached to the barrel instead of the slide, with the compensator ahead of the front sight. This technology reduces muzzle jump, making it easy to stay focused on the front sight for follow up shots. The compensator reduces recoil by 63% and the gun uses the STI Recoil Master dual spring system to reduce recoil even further, making the Costa Carry Comp one of the smoothest shooting pistols on the market.

A kit gun is a relatively compact and lightweight handgun appropriate for hiking, camping or tossing in a tackle box. Kit guns are generally chambered in smaller calibers good for plinking and shooting small game or pests. They should be easy to carry, fun to shoot and accurate enough for a wide variety of tasks. While .22-caliber revolvers are generally used, the Kel-Tec PMR-30 pistol has taken the kit-gun concept to a whole new level.

In a victory for Second and Fourth amendment rights, the Indiana Supreme Court ruled this week that public possession of a handgun is not enough, by itself, to justify stopping and questioning someone. That conclusion is consistent with what the U.S. Supreme Court has said about the "reasonable suspicion" that police need to detain people.

TN: Governor And Memphis Police Director Disagree on The Great Disconnect

The great disconnect, according to Director Rallings, resulted in more than 800 weapons stolen out of cars in Memphis last year. There were 228 homicides in this city last year. Haslam knows the numbers but says, "I don't think most of those issues are caused by laws that have been changed in Nashville in the last few years."

Don't get the wrong idea, the Governor says, he thinks things could be better. "I do think there has to be constant communications between local officials and state officials about what are the impacts. What are the things that really make a difference? Are those changing laws that caused that to happen, or are there other factors."

As a company, we don’t get political – except when it comes to one thing: We believe in the inherent right to bear arms. We vehemently support the U.S.’ 2nd Amendment. Our target customer is therefore EVERYONE! As such, one of the things I’ve always recommended is having a minimum of two knives on you for everyday carry. One knife should remain unused so that it is razor sharp and ready, its sole purpose is being used in a self defence application. Hopefully, you never need it. The other knife is your everyday utility knife.

But the National Rifle Association says the celebration is unwarranted. Marion Hammer, longtime Tallahassee lobbyist for the NRA and the United Sportsmen of Florida, sent an email to supporters on Wednesday pointing out that gun control bills weren’t even heard in committee and vows to push for more legislation expanding gun rights.

“Regardless of who defeated what, we'd say it was a great session for protecting the Second Amendment rights of law-abiding citizens,” Hammer wrote. “ And the ‘victories’ claimed by . . . anti-gun groups will be short lived because bills to restore Second Amendment rights to law-abiding people will be back ... until they pass.”

In Hollywood, advocating for gun rights is more shocking than gluten and cellulite. Actors decry private gun ownership in America as “a …. disgrace,” endorse Australian-style gun bans, and generally follow the same predictable script when it comes to increased gun control.

These celebs – many of whom profit handsomely by portraying graphic violence using guns – claim to “hate guns,” “don’t think we need guns in this country,” and describe the constitutionally protected right to keep and bear arms as a “problem.”

LA: House approves bill adding "dating partner" protections to domestic violence laws

Moreno added six pages of amendments to ease the NRA's opposition. The amendments redefine "dating partner" (removing reference to “a casual relationship or ordinary association between persons in a business or social context”) and prevent a dating partner convicted of domestic violence crimes from automatically losing their Second Amendment right.

Current state and federal laws prohibit first-time offenders for domestic violence from possessing a firearm for 10 years. The amended bill effectively creates a new crime of violence classification for dating partners that won't strip their ability to have a gun until a second offense.

Last week, according to a report by the local Fox affiliate WBRC (Fox19 News), Zachary was innocently minding his own business, doing what millions of other American kids do at night after school. He was checking his social media account, in this case, the video and image-sharing app, Instagram.

Coming across a friend’s picture of a realistic-looking Airsoft gun, Airsoft enthusiast Zachary pushed “Like,” an absent-minded gesture many people engage in dozens of times a day on images depicting such things as pets, deserts, and objects involved in hobbies they share with their friends.

Lawmakers in the Louisiana House killed a bill Wednesday that would have allowed lawful gun owners to carry concealed firearms without a permit.

The Associated Press reported the measure — House Bill 68, sponsored by Republican Rep. Barry Ivey — was shot down by the House Committee on Administration of Criminal Justice on an 8-5 vote.

Under current state law, Louisiana residents are allowed to openly carry firearms without a permit but must obtain a permit in order to carry concealed weapons.

“Staff who worked for Shannon quit or are fired faster than the organization can replace them. She’s a nightmare,” the source told The Caller.

Another DC source was a bit more blunt.

“Two beliefs unite nearly all gun control supporters: background checks save lives, and Shannon Watts is a self-promoting tyrant.”

And early this week Everytown announced the departures of two senior staffers — its managing director Debra Rose and deputy organizing director Isaac Bloom.

KS: Guns will be allowed at psychiatric hospitals - unless Kansas comes up with millions to stop it

A 2013 bill expanded gun laws in Kansas by allowing concealed firearms in state and municipal buildings, while also giving a four-year exemption to public colleges and hospitals. But that exemption expires July 1.

So for hospitals to be able to continue banning guns, lawmakers must either pass a new law making that exemption permanent - or implement costly security measures.

Under the 2013 law, facilities can still ban weapons after July 1 if they meet certain security requirements, such as installing metal detectors and hiring full-time armed security guards. But those measures would cost millions.

GA: Campus carry an option that can make students safer

Georgia’s new campus carry law will give law-abiding college students greater options for defending themselves. As an advocate for survivors of sexual abuse and violence through the nonprofit Racheal’s Rest, I support any and all efforts to expand people’s self-defense options. I have too often seen the damaging, lifelong consequences women suffer when they can’t protect themselves from assault.

College students face the same threats all Georgians face and they, too, should have the right to fight back. There are, of course, different self-defense tools women can use, but ultimately, guns are the great equalizer. Firearms give women the ability to defeat an attacker no matter the size difference.

When Lesley Green was a little girl in Houston, Texas in the 1960s — just a few decades after the routine lynchings of blacks in the South — her father would go off to work a late-night shift and leave a gun and a pile of bullets behind.

If any strangers came looking for trouble, he told Green and her sister, you blast them into the stars.

Nobody ever came looking. But even as an 11-year-old, learning to shoot a gun she could barely lift, Green said she recognized the important lesson her father was teaching her about being black in America: it's a dangerous world out there, and neither the government nor the police are likely be there to save you if trouble decides to make a visit.
