Ed.: We could start by laying off all cops and eliminating all police departments.

We have a name for it when the majority of us blame an innocent minority. It is called bigotry.

The non-gun owning majority of US adults blames legal gun owners for wrongs that Armed America didn’t commit.

How should we stop this bigotry against legal gun owners?

Late Sunday night, a robbery turned fatal at a church in Dothan, Alabama. Some members of Crossroads Baptist Church were finishing up the day’s work, handling the offering money and preparing for a youth trip some members would be taking the following morning. But the seemingly routine situation quickly intensified when a robber, armed with a knife, arrived.

26-year-old Steffan Parreese Valentez Tolver approached one of the church members outside of the building around 10:30 p.m. and then forced the man into the building, according to WTVY-TV. Tolver stole about $50 from the parishioner before moving on to his next target, a staff member who happened to be armed as well – with a handgun.

A young woman was shot and killed early Thursday in an Atascocita-area house after the homeowner said he fired in self-defense.

The young woman entered before 5:15 a.m. the house on River Brook near Fawn Trail Lane, said Deputy Thomas Gilliland with the Harris County Sheriff's Office.

When the owner of the residence - a 43-year-old man - heard the woman coming into his house, he called 911. The homeowner was armed with a gun. Fearing that his house was being burglarized, he fired at the young woman, hitting her at least once, Gilliland said.

The woman - who has not been identified - died inside of the home.

In Thursday’s edition of liberal hypocrisy, long-time liberal news anchor and deceptive video editor Katie Couric bemoaned to the New York Daily News that fake news is currently “tearing” the U.S. “apart at the seams” with “quite educated” friends falling for fake stories while assigning no blame to the liberal media establishment she’s been a part of for decades.

Couric’s fears came just over a year after being embarrassingly exposed for spreading fake news by deceptively editing an interview with Second Amendment activists as part of her gun control documentary Under the Gun. Later, accusations were also made about an obesity documentary Couric participated in.

A study by the Crime Prevention Research Center (CPRC) shows that women and blacks led last year’s record-breaking surge in concealed carry permits.

According to the CPRC, “the number of permit holders grew by a record 1.83 million” in 2016. And in the 14 states that provide information regarding gender of permit holders, more than one out of three permit holders were women.

The Arkansas Department of Health is warning would-be applicants for medical marijuana cards that they can have the card or the ability to buy a gun, but not both.

This warning came as Texarkana’s board of directors set forth rules and costs for establishing medical marijuana dispensaries.

According to NWA, the Ark. Dept. of Health is stressing that an individual cannot have “a medical marijuana card and legally own a gun because pot is still illegal on the federal level.” In other words, a resident licensed to legally purchase marijuana for medical purposes in Arkansas would still have to answer in the affirmative when asked about unlawful use of marijuana during a background check for firearms purchases.

After reviewing 811 weapons listings on several dark-web markets, researchers found that firearms were the top selling category, with more than 300 active listings, and a surprising candidate emerged as number two: digital products offering gun and explosive manuals and designs.

“While guides and manuals on how to make bombs at home were illegally circulating on the web well before the establishment of cryptomarkets, the level of accessibility provided by these platforms represents reason for high concern among policy makers and practitioners,” researchers said in the study, which unearthed a total of 222 listings for digital products.

Emergency-department pediatricians such as Sarah Denny of Nationwide Children’s Hospital and Michael Gittelman of Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center are heartsick at the number of children they see horribly injured by firearms. At Nationwide Children’s, gunshot wounds are the leading cause of accidental death — more than car accidents. Curious children find their parents’ “hidden” and unsecured guns and think it’s a toy, or teens in an impulsive moment use the guns in a suicide attempt, leading to catastrophic injuries or death.

One More Reason Gun Owners Should Be Celebrated

The safety record of America’s gun owners is nothing short of stunning. When reviewing the annual number of deadly firearms-related accidents reported by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), I cannot help but sit and shake my head in disbelief. In 2014, the number of 486 marked an all-time low since data was first collected in the early 1900s.

Not surprisingly, the record was announced by the government with no media fanfare. Imagine for a moment how things would have gone in the so-called “mainstream” media if it had been a record high. Of course, this would not have happened because the accident numbers have been trending downward for decades, thanks to NRA training and enhanced public awareness.

Sometimes I can't help but think of all the things my kids enjoy today that were just daydreams a few decades ago. They'll never know what it was like to live in a world without the Internet, wi-fi or microwave-ready corndogs. In that same vein, it comes as something of a surprise to realize that we're now well into the second generation of modern shooting enthusiasts that have “grown up” with striker-fired pistols made in Austria or strongly influenced by the now ubiquitous Glock-type trigger-mounted-safety design.

“What the bigger principal is, are we going to stick to this Constitution that protects all of our rights,” he said. “Once we lose the separation of powers, the First Amendment, Second Amendment, Fourth Amendment, we start whittling away our Constitutional rights.”

Although Paxton didn’t address the LUPE protesters, his director of communication, Marc Rylander, did shortly after the AG had left the event, stating they have every right to “express their voice” however they choose.

I’m tired of hearing how important they are for hunting, or target practice, or especially protection. Protect what? A home? If nobody had guns would we have to? I’ll try a 3-iron. Isn’t it comforting to know that wherever you go, including church, the person next to you has a gun strapped on? Chicago is undergoing population extermination. Eight more people shot there one day this week, including a 9-year-old child. How about the woman in her pajamas who called 911 for help and the policeman, upon arrival, shot her to death? Good Lord!

The mere idea that Kennedy’s seat could get filled by President Donald Trump and the Republican Senate has sent many on the left into a tailspin of anxiety and despair. In the 29 years Kennedy has served on the court, he has authored opinions or cast tie-breaking votes in major, divisive cases, including decisions that preserved a constitutional right to abortion, recognized social and sexual liberties for gays and lesbians, granted habeas corpus protections to Guantanamo Bay prisoners, confirmed a Second Amendment right to own a handgun in the home, and applied the First Amendment to corporations engaged in political speech.

At 24 years old, my daughter, Jessi, was sparky, beautiful, and ambitious, with red hair that mirrored her fiery spirit. In summer 2012, she was finishing her final year of college in Colorado and looking forward to pursuing a career as a sports journalist. On the night before she had an interview for a dream job, she went with her close friend Brent to a midnight movie.

A lawsuit filed in federal court alleges a Michigan man's Second Amendment rights were violated by the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services.

The complaint, filed with the United States District Court for the Western District of Michigan, says 54-year-old William Johnson of Ontonagon, Mich. was told by a judge he had to "give up" his guns in order to foster his grandson.

William, a retired disabled Marine, and his wife, Jill, were asked by the State of Michigan to be foster parents to their grandchild. When they went to pick up the boy, they were asked to provide their Concealed Pistol License, and turn in all serial numbers for his firearms, including rifles and shotguns.

More than 30 Democrats in the Massachusetts House are supporting a measure to authorize authorities to take guns away from those deemed a threat to themselves or others.

The proposal, H.3081, would allow family members, police, health care providers or prosecutors to request a judge issue an “extreme risk protective order” against individuals experiencing a crisis that may put themselves or others at risk. The measure would result in suspension of gun rights for up to a year.
