Police unearthed 15 handguns that were buried in the dirt at a property owned by the city of Croswell, according to a press release from the Sanilac County Sheriff's Office.

The guns were confirmed stolen from a Croswell residence in 2011, police said.

On Sept. 20, the sheriff's detective bureau, uniform division and Croswell Police Department pieced together enough information on the possible location of the stolen items after deputies began receiving tips about the crime more than a month ago, according to the press release.

The search led to a wooded portion of property owned by the city and at about 3 p.m., investigators found signs of disturbed ground, the press release stated.

The UK’s fear of firearms, and potential weapons of all kinds, is well-documented. Subjects are urged not to carry any item, such as pepper spray, that might be adapted for self-defense. Officers take to social media to boast of “weapons sweeps” that turn up old kitchen knives, baseball bats, and sharpened sticks. In 2009, the Home Office even contemplated replacing traditional glass pint glasses out of fears about their use in barroom brawls. However, a recent report from the Wall Street Journal reveals that there is growing sentiment in the UK to abandon one of the clearest representations of their antipathy towards arms and equip more police officers with guns.

The issue of youth gun violence takes center stage this weekend at a prevention workshop at Shiloh Baptist Church’s Family Life Center in the District.

It could not have come at a better time.

Our nation’s capital has been afflicted with more than 80 homicides so far this year, most by way of illegal guns brought into the city from East Coast states such as Maryland and Virginia.

Yue Chen, the graphic designer who created the poster depicting the Second Amendment, said that part of his aim was to put one of the more controversial amendments in context. “The amendment says that people should have the right to keep and bear arms, but what about the first part?” he said. (The first half of the amendment speaks about the “security of a free state”). “To me the common goal is really the security… And I feel like a lot of the talking points are being peddled by the politicians that are not necessarily beneficial to finding the better solution to keeping everybody safe.”

Though we have a Second Amendment-friendly administration in the White House right now, Lott knows that we can’t afford to rest on our laurels. And it is in that spirit that he wrote his latest op-ed, which brilliantly connects the issue of background checks to another one of the left’s pet issues – the subject of “voter suppression.” In it, Lott argues that since Democrats have told us that background checks are the end-all, be-all when it comes to preventing gun violence, we should use those very same background checks…to screen American citizens for voting rights.

The advent of the polymer-framed, striker-fired automatic pistol brought about profound changes in the way handgunners go about things. No worries, I’m not here to bash these guns – there’s been plenty of that. As a matter of fact, though it took me a while, I’m a fan of these firearms and have had great success with many different models of striker-fired pistols. I’ve carried them extensively as a lawman and a civilian, with great success.

The polymer pistol undoubtedly has a place in our society. My only complaint is that the striker-fired concept has taken away a few key elements of handgunning that have been meaningful to shooters for decades.

“A GOP bill deregulating silencers could have ‘devastating effects’ on public safety, law enforcement leaders say,” an hysterical SHARE Act hit piece by Mother Jones claims. Of course it is and of course they do.

Still, thanks, motherjonesers, for once more confirming that Democrats are anti-gun — at least as far as We the People are concerned.

Washington Post Employs Deceptive Tactic on “Children” and Guns

Using a well-worn anti-gun tactic, the author came to the deceptive 23 “children” a day figures by combining the annual number of firearms-related injuries among those properly identified as children (0-14) with firearms-related injuries among juveniles (15-17) and labeling the entire group “children.” As one might expect, juveniles, rather than children, account for the vast majority of firearms-related injuries.

According to the Centers for Disease Control, in 2015 there were 8,369 firearms injuries among those ages 0-17. Juveniles ages 15-17 accounted for 6,476, or 77 percent, of those injuries. Excluding these individuals from the measurement, the average number of children who sustained a firearm injury each day drops from 23 to 5.

"My name is Dylan Ervin, I'm a competitive shooter, a business owner, a husband and a father of two," Dylan Ervin said in a promotional video.

He's re-inventing the way we lock up our guns.

Ervin has been hard at work for the last four years creating the StopBox.

"It's for the in-between point for when your firearm isn't in your holster or in your gun safe," Ervin said.

The StopBox acts as a barrier, similar to a tumbler lock, where you can create your own finger-locking passcode.

Not long ago, on a summer afternoon, I found myself in Las Vegas with nothing much to do.

My flight back home wasn't until the next day. The $20 I was willing to throw away on gambling didn't last as long, so I needed something to do.

Luckily, over the last decade or so, Las Vegas has become the machine gun capital of the world. A Mecca of hot lead unloaded at a blistering pace.

Discussion of the state of the firearms industry began again with the release of the August NICS numbers. Allegations of a fading industry recur every month. Obama was the greatest gun salesman ever, Hillary Clinton almost was, and Trump may be the worst yet.

Few descriptions of the intersection between a Constitutional right, an industry, and policy are that simple or that shortsighted.

The immediate response is that there were more NICS background checks last month than in any August before and that the first eight months of 2017 would already qualify as the 7th busiest year in NICS history even without the busy holiday months.

A federal appeals court unanimously voted Tuesday to uphold the Seattle Police Department’s use-of-force policy.

A group of nearly 125 officers filed suit claiming the policy violated their Second Amendment rights to use their service weapons for self-defense, the Hill reported. The policy, adopted in 2012 as a part of a DOJ reform agreement, required officers to use "objectively reasonable force, proportional to the threat or urgency of the situation." They were pushed to use de-escalation techniques when possible.

Bishop Police Chief Billy Durbin on Friday said the fatal shooting of a 26-year-old man earlier this month was done in self-defense by two girls he was suspected of sexually assaulting.

It was Sept. 7 when officers responded to a call about a shooting in the 500 block of E. Joyce Drive in Bishop. Police found the body of Evan Frost, who had two bullet wounds to the head and one in the arm. Durbin on Friday said Frost had been shot with a .22-caliber handgun by two female juveniles who Frost sexually assaulted.

The shooting, he said, was in self-defense. He declined to specify whether one or both of the girls had shot Frost, or their ages, in order to protect the girls' identities.

Paul Henry III now faces the death penalty in those killings. Prosecutors contend that he and his wife, Veronique, showed up at the rural Fawn Township home carrying guns — guns that neither was legally allowed to possess.

A Daily Record investigation reveals a series of missed opportunities to keep the pair away from guns. In fact, the case illustrates many reasons why it is difficult to keep guns out of the hands of people barred from having them.

Nationally, the gun control debate often centers on whether more gun laws are needed, or whether existing gun laws need to be better enforced. In this case, a slew of examples shows why laws to keep guns away from criminals and dangerous people often are ineffective or not enforced.

Earlier this month we reported on the introduction of H.R. 3668, the Sportsmen’s Heritage and Recreational Enhancement (SHARE) Act. Within weeks of its introduction, the bill had a hearing before the House Natural Resource Subcommittee on Federal Lands and passed out of the full Committee on Natural Resources. The panic is now starting to set in amongst the gun control lobby, which is desperately searching for ways to smear a bill that has been around for years in various forms without attracting much attention from the usual anti-gun extremists.

Luther Strange, "A+" Rated and NRA-PVF Endorsed

Luther has earned our endorsement and highest rating, an "A+", because he is the ONLY candidate in the race we can count on to protect our Second Amendment freedoms. His opponent, Roy Moore, can’t be trusted with our gun rights. So don’t waste your vote!

Campus Carry: Nearly 15 Years With Zero Crimes By Concealed Carriers

Campus carry went into effect in Colorado in 2003, in Utah in 2004, and followed in another nine states over the next 13 years. Throughout this time, there have been zero crimes by concealed-carry permit holders on campus, which of course means zero mass shootings.

That no mass shootings have been committed by concealed-carry permit holders is a necessary point to make given the hyperbolic hand-wringing of the leftist gun-grabbers who warned that campus carry would result in bloodshed and Wild West scenarios on campus.
