MO: City of Arnold sues over Missouri's new gun law

The city of Arnold this week asked a judge to overturn Missouri's controversial new gun law, saying it is vague and confusing, hampers criminal investigations and is contrary to state and federal law.

In a lawsuit filed in Jefferson County Circuit Court on Wednesday, the city says the "Second Amendment Preservation Act" contains a series of provisions that put city officials at risk, including an apparent prohibition against seizing guns during investigations.

The city also said the law hampers the "recruitment, hiring and retention of law enforcement officers who are currently or formerly employed by or affiliated with" any federal agency.

These should be called the waco/ruby ridge prevention acts. Federal goons need to be escorted out of each state if they pretend to be enforcing anything.

Too many in the voter base don't understand that the government has drifted way past its constitutional limitations, and must he reined in. They are the product of decades of conditioning to believe that whatever government decides is 'best' for us is legitimately within its purview; that simply is not true.

The Constitutions of the nation and the several states are constructed to limit government powers to those they specifically delegate to it, and they exist precisely FOR that purpose.

This law is just an example of remedying existing law, legislatively (as should be done).

Our duty isn't to make government's job easier, government's duty is to stay out of our way.

Liberty is paramount. Government is an afterthought.

 QUOTES TO REMEMBER
You are bound to meet misfortune if you are unarmed because, among other reasons, people despise you....There is simply no comparison between a man who is armed and one who is not. It is unreasonable to expect that an armed man should obey one who is unarmed, or that an unarmed man should remain safe and secure when his servants are armed. In the latter case, there will be suspicion on the one hand and contempt on the other, making cooperation impossible. — Niccolo Machiavelli in "The Prince."
