MI: Guns in schools are a lesson in complete stupidity

Whoever came up with the notion of allowing concealed guns in schools deserves a big, fat F in common sense.

Because they clearly have been spending too much time in the fiction section of the library.

The idea that children will somehow be safer if we introduce more guns into school buildings is stupid to the point of being offensive.

Do we really think that we are safer introducing more guns into public places when the folks who run courthouses - spots already teeming with armed police - don't even allow the public to carry guns inside?

Clio Superintendent Fletcher Spears III, who testified in support of the legislation to allow concealed permit holders to carry guns in schools, said he believes in the right to bear arms.

This is another liberal nutcase who just doesn't get it. In Minnesota we have had armed concealed carry teachers for years, mostly in remote schools where law enforcement response is 20-30 minutes or longer. By law these teachers must be trained, and they are, and they must get permission from the principal or superintendent. I feel much better knowing my grandchildren are protected instead of being targets of a mentally ill psychotic in a gun-free zone.

On the contrary. "Gun Free Zones" are a lesson in complete stupidity.

How are those gun free school zones working for you?

Someone help me. I cannot think of a single instance where a licensed concealed carry holder shot anyone in a school.

But, I can name off the top of my head over a dozen times where lots of people in a school wished there was a licensed concealed carry holder with a gun present.

And since we do not wish to have fires in schools, lets also remove fire extinguishers.

Children are our future. Not to afford them the same levels of "protection" afforded almost every bit of hollywood trash and amoral politician as a "matter of course" seems more insane than erecting a series of signs to be ignored by suicidal murderers - except to assure them of no resistance - to their homicidal intent !

 QUOTES TO REMEMBER
The provision in the Constitution granting the right to all persons to bear arms is a limitation upon the power of the Legislature to enact any law to the contrary. The exercise of a right guaranteed by the Constitution cannot be made subject to the will of the sheriff. [People vs. Zerillo, 219 Mich. 635, 189 N.W. 927, at 928 (1922)]
