"Assault weapons are primarily made to kill many human beings as quickly as possible. [KABA asks, if this is true, why do cops carry them?] These types of weapons have a military purpose, so why is it so important to the National Rifle Association that assault weapons be available to the public?"
"Many people in our country harbor strong anti-government sentiments. These types of people, as exemplified by NRA executive Wayne LaPierre, form the heart and soul of the NRA leadership. They feel the need to amass firepower equal or superior to that possessed by law enforcement so that if the authorities attempt to impose 'government tyranny,' they will be prepared for armed resistance. This sounds like a terrorist organization ready to spring into action." ... -------
I believe this individual would have been one of those Samuel Adams was addressing when he said "If ye love wealth greater than liberty, the tranquility of servitude greater than the animating contest for freedom, go home from us in peace. We seek not your counsel, nor your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen." |
