The Commission believes that ―assault weapons like the AR-15, as well as large capacity magazines (LCM‘s) often used with those weapons, have no legitimate place in the civilian population. The Commission finds that the cost to society of easy civilian access to assault weapons and LCM‘s vastly outweighs the benefits of civilian ownership. By contrast, the Commission finds that the significant benefit to society from eliminating civilian ownership and possession of assault weapons and LCM‘s can be realized with only a minimal burden on persons who want to hunt, engage in target practice or use weapons for self-defense. They remain free to engage in those activities with a vast array of long guns and handguns.

Yet another vapid iteration of the "demon gun" meme. Nor is there any cognizance of a "system failure", where,(apparently) a single mom appealed to social agencies for help without response.
Seems to me Sandy Hook - and manifold CT government agencies et al - are engaging in a massive "disinformation" campaign. We ought to be asking the " CT powers that be" why they didn't catch Adam Lanza before he went on a rampage. We ought to be asking why - in a society where our every thought, action and utterance is subject to government surveillance - they weren't aware of the threat he posed. But that would be an indictment of the progressive meme. |

QUOTES
TO REMEMBER |
"And how we burned in the camps later, thinking: What would things have been like if every Security operative, when he went out at night to make an arrest, had been uncertain whether he would return alive and had to say good-bye to his family? Or if, during periods of mass arrests, as for example in Leningrad, when they arrested a quarter of the entire city, people had not simply sat there in their lairs, paling in terror at every bang of the downstairs door and at every step on the staircase, but had understood they had nothing left to lose and had boldly set up in the downstairs hall an ambush of half a dozen people with axes, hammers, pokers, or whatever else was at hand? [...] The Organs would very quickly have suffered a shortage of officers and transport and, notwithstanding all of Stalin's thirst, the cursed machine would have ground to a halt!" —Alexander Solzhenitsyn, The Gulag Archipelago (Chapter 1 "Arrest") |
