"We often hear advice being given suggesting that during a robbery you should offer up no resistance and do exactly what you're told. After all, the robber is only after your money, right? Setting aside the fact that, for women, rape is a very real possibility as a secondary crime during a robbery, we can look at several real life instances to see if the "always comply" advice is sound." ... -------
Author's Note: "Do exactly as you are told. DO NOT RESIST!" That advice for how to survive a robbery is often given by "experts" who don't understand the criminal mindset. Far too often, even full compliance leads to the injury or death of the victim. Sometimes, resistance isn't futile. |

QUOTES
TO REMEMBER |
A strong body makes the mind strong. As to the species of exercises, I advise the gun. While this gives moderate exercise to the body, it gives boldness, enterprise, and independence to the mind. Games played with the ball and others of that nature, are too violent for the body and stamp no character on the mind. Let your gun therefore be the constant companion of your walks. — Thomas Jefferson, Encyclopedia of T. Jefferson, 318, Foley, Ed., reissued 1967. |
