Officer Tom Walsh, left, and Sgt. Neil Cook toss rifles into a metal cabinet which is loaded into a van, then shredded. The Metro Police Department shreds 1,405 guns, including rifles, shotguns and pistols. Many of the weapons were seized during arrests for unlawful gun possession. Weapons associated with homicide investigations and other serious felonies are not included. |
