Surprisingly, one substantial proposal still lives in the Senate. It requires the ABC board to yank the licenses of restaurant or club owners who sell mixed drinks to visibly armed individuals.

If this survives the Senate, it will give Virginians a good test of how far afield the House of Delegates is willing to wander from the laws of common sense.

Again, we see the conflation of law with opinion. There are no "laws of common sense." There is law, and there is common sense.

Common sense is developed out of experience. Experience is the result of inadequate common sense.

Law is made the same way as sausage, and you don't really want to watch either process, to paraphrase Samuel Clemens.

The MA legislature has never seen a gun control bill they don't like.
