Redding gun stores haven't noticed the economic downturn felt by most of America this holiday season. Just the opposite. Owners of three of the area's largest gun dealerships say their sales have doubled or even tripled as hundreds of worried gun-rights advocates rush to buy firearms before President-elect Barack Obama and a Democrat-controlled House and Senate take power after January. "After the election, there definitely was motivation," said Fred Drollinger, 53, of Shingletown, who picked up a new Kimber .45-caliber semi-automatic pistol earlier this month from Jones' Fort in Redding. "The Democrats have a very different view of guns" than he does.

If californians are buying guns, it's good for a different reason. They can't have the cool stuff so if they're buying guns like crazy, then that is helping a segment of the gun market that the rest of us aren't helping as we gobble up ARs.

I guess those who bought EBRs in October are feeling pretty smug right now.

Well, I bought a EBR back in Nov. 2006. I am hardly feeling "smug."
I'm feeling "scared."
Yeah: SCARED.

We just elected the most anti-freedom president in history. We did it because the economy blew up -- yet the messiah of change we installed is promising nothing more than Hoover/FDR redux as a solution. It was Hoover & FDR who gave us big brother govt. and programs that extended and worsened the Great Depression until WWII.
Buying a EBR may be a good thing.
But it doesn't change what's going on ... the cr@p that is heading toward the fan is still in it's ballistic trajectory ..........

Here's a foolish question, but here goes:

What is an EBR?
