"Modesto SWAT officer Craig Wend first confronted the boy in his darkened bedroom during the raid. -- Wend ordered young Alberto to lie face down on the floor of his bedroom, which the boy did. Wend then left the room, -- Seconds later, officer David Hawn entered the bedroom and pointed his shotgun at the boy's back. -- three SWAT Team veterans, in sworn depositions, have said that Hawn didn't need to aim the gun at the boy because he was not a threat to officer safety."

So even though he shot and killed an unarmed boy lying on the floor, he wasn't brought up on criminal charges; therefore he wouldn't be excluded from the proposed nationwide unlicensed CCW for present and former LEO's.
Something's wrong here.....

This still stinks to high heaven. ""There is no evidence...that the officer ever intended to harm this child." Oh yeah? What about the fact that the officer was in charge of his weapon, intentionally pointed it at 11 year old Alberto and wound up shooting him in the back? "It just went off" is the type of nonsense I'd expect from someone like Claudine Longet, not a supposedly professional LEO.

When are the responsible LEO's going to drop this "code of silence" stupidity and, like other professionals, insist that the crooks and incompetents among them be weeded out?

 QUOTES TO REMEMBER
Violence, naked force, has settled more issues in history than has any other factor, and the contrary opinion is wishful thinking at its worst. Nations and peoples who forget this basic truth have always paid for it with their lives and freedoms. — Robert Heinlein
