what NJ is trying to do is create a built in market for the gun manufacturers in an attempt to get them to spend the money on smart gun research. If S&W were the first to come up with the technology, all NJ citzens would have only one choice of gun to buy, at whatever price.

The police should test “smart” gun technology in the “field” for six (6) months.
After 6 months test, let the “survivors”, report back to the New Jersey Senate with recommendations for this legislation.

| Imagine a gun manufacturer having a monopoly.Didn't the federal government have a problem with AT&T and Microsoft in this dept.?Or a state where you can't buy or sell a secondhand gun.Isn't restricting people from being able to sell what they don't want illegal? If it was a law that said I could't sell a used table, more people would be crying out against it.With smart gun laws, transferring ownership of a gun would be impossible.Imagine a state where a gun could't be used by the wife of the man who bought it, and she was unable to defend herself with it.Welcome to the nightmare that will be NJ. |
