Her aim wasn't great, but it was good enough to send her ex-boyfriend packing.

The Oakland County Sheriff's Office said a Pontiac woman scared the man off when she pulled out a handgun and fired several shots Sunday after he broke into her home and threatened to "knock her out."

The victim said she was in fear of her safety when he came back and began to push her around, so she pulled out her 9mm, semi-auto handgun and fired several shots at him, according to the release. The woman has a valid CPL license, police said.

The man was not hit and fled the residence in a vehicle being driven by another another person. The victim provided a vehicle description to deputies, who later found the man and arrested him.

..police on Monday were investigating an apparent home-invasion robbery that ended when a man shot an alleged intruder, authorities said.

Initial reports indicated a man in his 20s or 30s was trying to break into the house when the male resident, who is in his 50s, confronted him, police spokesman Todd Green said.

The would-be intruder pointed a gun at the resident, who drew his own weapon and fired, Green said. A bullet hit the would-be intruder in the leg, and he was taken to a Tacoma hospital for treatment.

Police seized two guns at the scene, and the resident and his live-in girlfriend were taken to police headquarters for questioning, Green said.

 QUOTES TO REMEMBER
The right of the people to keep and bear arms has been recognized by the General Government; but the best security of that right after all is, the military spirit, that taste for martial exercises, which has always distinguished the free citizens of these States....Such men form the best barrier to the liberties of America — Gazette of the United States, October 14, 1789.
