"Thieves have broken into about half a dozen marked and unmarked patrol cars, stealing thousands of dollars of goods in Broward County, officials said."
"In a string of patrol car crime on July 18 in Cooper City, a thief caused $2,000 in damage by taking off the frame around the window of a Hollywood police car and prying out the window. The suspect also stole a loaded $1,500 rifle from the trunk, police said."
"Also that night, the windows of two Broward County Sheriff's Office patrol cars were smashed and a laptop computer was stolen from each. A total of $3,200 in goods were stolen form the cars parked in a deputy's driveway, said Cooper City Police Capt. Marvin Stoner."
Other items stolen from law enforcement vehicles include: two rings, a 9-mm Beretta pistol, a police radio, a SWAT uniform...
"[Sheriff's spokesman Hugh] Graf said the recent theft is not a cause for worry." |
