A Long Island man is amazingly expected to make a full recovery after his attempted murderer shot at him eight times Sunday afternoon. Nassau County police say 36-year-old Richard Davidson, of Albermarle Road in Brooklyn, and the 43-year-old victim got into an argument in front of 40 Lois Place in Valley Stream at about 12:55 p.m. Sunday. Armed with a handgun, Davidson shot at the victim a total of eight times, even as the victim was trying to seek shelter inside the Lois Place building. The victim, whose identity was not immediately released, was shot six times in his legs and twice in his shoulders. He was transported to an area hospital, where he is listed in stable condition. Cops describe his injuries as non-life-threatening.

QUOTES
TO REMEMBER |
They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.— Benjamin Franklin Historical Review of Pennsylvania. [Note: This sentence was often quoted in the Revolutionary period. It occurs even so early as November, 1755, in an answer by the Assembly of Pennsylvania to the Governor, and forms the motto of Franklin's "Historical Review," 1759, appearing also in the body of the work. — Frothingham: Rise of the Republic of the United States, p. 413. ] |
