2 Shot in Brevard Home Invasion

March 8, 2001

Two people remain hospitalized in Brevard County following a home invasion at the Village Green Apartments.

Three men burst into the home around 2:15 a.m. Thursday, and one of the invaders was shot in the head. The other victim, a resident of the apartment, was shot several times in the leg, police said.

The resident is in stable condition, but the invader was listed in critical condition, WESH NewsChannel 2 reported.

The gunman fled in a dark-colored sport utility vehicle, bursting through a chain-link fence on the property. The vehicle should have some front-end damage.

Melbourne police are investigating.
