CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS -- A convenience store clerk told police that a man about 19 years old tried to rob the store.

The clerk said the man tried to steal a 12-pack of beer but he grabbed the robber and wrestled him outside the store and onto the pavement.

He said a vehicle pulled up and a second would-be robber jumped out of the car and waved a knife.

The clerk said the two men left after he pulled out his Glock handgun, which police said the clerk had a registered license to carry.
