Police officers are human beings—even the best can make mistakes in tense situations. They, after all, have a difficult job. They deal with society’s worst and best. So, because we can be pulled over for speeding, be involved in an accident or otherwise find ourselves in a situation wherein we must interact with law enforcement while carrying concealed, we need to know the law and how to behave amidst fluid legal situations.

When deciding on the best coyote caliber or cartridge, your choice says a lot more about you (and the way you hunt) than it does about coyotes. There is no universally superior coyote caliber or cartridge, but if you take a few factors into consideration, you can certainly pick the best one for you. Your style of hunting, the areas you hunt, whether you’re salvaging fur, and other animals you might hunt with the same gun are all things that matter.

The current anti-gun administration doesn’t want you to know it, but it is estimated that honest citizens use guns to defend themselves something on the order of 2 million times a year. They are so concerned about this that the FBI has been accused of doctoring their yearly statistics to reflect a much lower number. Yet, an authority like Dr. John Lott is quite comfortable putting the number of defensive gun uses at around two million a year. With the current trend in some of our bigger cities toward ignoring social unrest, the figure could even be higher.

Well, 2022 just seemed to fly by like a speeding train, leaving more than a few ripples along the way. As we roll into a brand-new 2023 – fingers crossed – hopefully we see another great year for Americans enjoying their Second Amendment rights. But before we get too far down the 2023 rabbit hole, let’s take a look at what gun buyers put their sights on to close out last year.

Triggers…that one small piece that can make or break your accuracy and comfort when firing your AR. It’s the piece of the gun that you keep your finger off of until you’re ready to fire. At first look, a trigger is a trigger, but they are not all the same! There’s a huge difference between a stock trigger and a competition trigger. While they may look similar, the difference is in the feel and performance.

What the News Can’t Tell Us About Armed Defense, Shootings, and Gunfights

The corporate news media is in the business of delivering eyes and ears to their advertisers. They must ignore the common but important stories in order to leave room for the excitement and outrage that keeps us watching, listening, and buying.

I study armed defense. Ordinary citizens like us defend ourselves, our family, and innocent strangers every day. You wouldn’t know that from watching the news. This is why the corporate media does such a bad job reporting on what we do.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) has abandoned its plans to destroy gunrunning evidence from Operation Fast and Furious following Republican intervention. News that the ATF planned to destroy Fast and Furious firearms emerged in early December and, on December 6, 2022, House Judiciary ranking member Jim Jordan (R-OH) sent a letter urging the ATF to reverse course.

The overwhelming majority of defensive and even military or law-enforcement handgun training is conducted on a standard firing line, against an immobile, two-dimensional paper target representing a threat. Here and there, participants may have access to more advanced target systems, which turn, swing, move or otherwise attempt to simulate a more mobile threat but not terribly often. The best answer in most advanced training is some type of force-on-force scenario.

In response to the Dec. 25 letter writer on AR-15s, I am one of those who does not believe that rifles such as the AR-15 should be banned in our nation. First, to answer your question, nobody wants to be shot by anything! Surgeons report the most deadly caliber to be shot by is a .22 long rifle. It will enter in one spot and bounce around inside the body, making it very difficult for a surgeon to locate.

Gun Owner New Year’s Resolutions Can Help Increase Involvement and Effectiveness

It’s the time of year when Americans are inclined to make resolutions. Some will try to lose weight, quit smoking, cut back on drinking, start an exercise program, go back to school, or find more rewarding employment. Those can all be worthy goals for gun owners to aspire to, but they neglect the preservation and restoration of legal recognition of the right to keep and bear arms. I submit that without unalienable rights, everything else is just the fine-tuning of privileges.

The United States is the only country in the world with more civilian-owned firearms than people. While most of the nearly 400 million firearms in the U.S. belong to law-abiding citizens, some portion of them inevitably end up in the wrong hands.

Like many a 2nd Amendment-loving teenager of my generation, I was introduced to the FN 5.72x28 via the Showtime television series Stargate SG-1. Fans of the show will remember how the main characters, played by Richard Dean Anderson and Amanda Tapping, would travel across the galaxy battling alien forces armed with their full auto FN P90’s.

I would like to tell you what you can expect to have in your fish box or your game bag in 2023, but unlike the bean counters at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and other government guessing agencies, all I can do is look at what was available in 2022, and hope the good numbers hold up and the bad numbers don’t get any worse.

Del-Ton officially began operations in 1998 from a North Carolina garage, not far from the front gates of Fort Bragg and the John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center and School—just outside Fayetteville, N.C. At the time, it specialized in online offerings of AR-15 accessories, kits, upgrades, optics and a variety of aftermarket parts. By 2000, it had earned a solid reputation among modern sporting rifle enthusiasts, thanks to the quality of its products and dedication to customer service.
