The Second Amendment Foundation, New Jersey Second Amendment Society and Firearms Policy Coalition filed a 47-page lawsuit in U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey. This column knows the main players — SAF’s Alan Gottlieb, NJ2AS President Alexander Roubian and FPC’s Brandon Combs — and they’re not doing this for amusement. They believe they have a good case and have turned loose three experienced attorneys to pursue it. And with a re-shaped Supreme Court and federal courts, there are some far-reaching implications.

Montana Values include protecting the unborn, securing our Second Amendment Right, and developing our natural resources. People are free to not own a firearm, drink from paper straws, and drive an electric vehicle, but we cannot allow this to become a mandate from the heavy hand of government. With conservative majorities in the legislature, a Republican governor, and strong attorney general, we are in a position to expand our freedoms and defend them when dark money groups try to challenge them in court.

On Wednesday, the Senate voted on a pair of pro-Second Amendment bills, giving the legislation final approval and sending both bills to the desk of Governor Tom Wolf. House Bill 2440 and House Bill 1747 both passed the Senate on a vote of 29-20. These bills were introduced and passed to protect constitutionally guaranteed freedoms and liberties during declared states of emergency like we are experiencing this year with COVID. The Legislature’s action parallels guidance on critical infrastructure issued by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security earlier in the year.

Voters roundly rejected gun control groups and their anti-Second Amendment schemes on Election Day. That hasn’t stopped these groups from searching for alternatives to advance their antigun agenda. Now failed presidential candidate Michael Bloomberg’s “news” site The Trace is giving former Vice President Joe Biden a playbook to use for executive actions, despite the will of the voters.

Shooting is a discipline that, to do well, takes self-control and training. First comes the important safety training, but then comes learning to hit moving clay targets and attaining the skills to shoot tight groups on paper or to hit steel quickly and accurately. These disciplines shape us and influence our understanding of this very practical American freedom.

It’s when they look back that experienced gun owners realize their view of guns, and of our Second Amendment, has been molded on the range.

NH: Why the voters re-elected Sununu

During the 2020 campaign season, the Democrats made a big deal out of the number of vetoes by Gov. Chris Sununu. On Nov. 3, the voters sent a strong message they support Sununu and his vetoes. How did this happen? I have a few ideas.

First, we the voters do no support the Democrats’ paid family and medical leave income tax. You can wordsmith it all you want, but if the employer doesn’t cough up the money it taxes a worker’s income. Second, we the voters do not support anti-gunowner legislation. New Hampshire has a proud tradition of responsible gun ownership and we do not need the Democrats infringing on the Second Amendment.

The law in Tennessee is clear. You can use deadly force only in self-defense if you fear for your life or someone else's.

But what if you could shoot someone who stole from you without it being a felony?

A new state bill by Middle Tennessee Representative Jay Reedy wants to expand the uses of deadly force to protect your property. Reedy said the bill could protect store owners when they shoot at looters, even if they are running from the scene.

I am writing to voice my objection to making Staunton a Second Amendment sanctuary. The way I see it, this movement is anchored in the horrific history of racism and current backlash of White Supremacy.

Reese lost Nov. 5 to Republican Josh Kimbrell, who was sworn in as Reese’s successor Monday.

During the campaign, Kimbrell accused Reese of not being conservative enough for a Republican-majority district. He also accused Reese of being anti-Second Amendment, which Reese vehemently denied.

“I support the Second Amendment and have a South Carolina (gun) permit and an out-of-state permit,” he said.

Reese said that may have cost him support, along with many who voted a straight Republican ticket.

Rep. Jay D. Reedy has filed House Bill 0011 which proposes a major change in Tennessee law. The unusual thing is that the bill actually appears to reflect what a lot of Tennesseans already believe is the law but is not. The new legislation reflects a heightened interest in the rights of people to protect their homes, businesses, properties and items from thieves, rioters, looters and other criminals.

At the heart of the state’s original stand your ground legislation was an effort to “flip the script” on cause and effect, target and aggressor, by framing the victims of violence as perpetrators, and the perpetrators as self-defenders.

Today, the progressive left wants you to believe that everything you learned was wrong. Bad is good, cops are racists, math is racist, America was founded in 1619, made in China is better than made in the USA, immigration for all, free speech is bad, self-defense is bad, self-reliance is bad and fathers are bad.
