Some state lawmakers in Georgia are looking to tighten up gun safety regulations in the wake of one of the deadliest school shootings of 2024 taking place in Georgia.

The issue of safe storage for guns is front of mind for many with the Apalachee High School shooting happening in North Georgia only a few months ago.

Colin Gray, the father of the shooter Colton Gray, is accused of ignoring his son’s warning signs and purchasing the firearm used in the incident.

Police need to be highly trained in both self-defense and the art of disarming. This way, when a small woman, holding a baby, and outnumbered, lunges with a kitchen knife, they can respond. Instead, this police officer resorted to using his weapon, resulting in the death of a mom and her baby.

As Maria Pike, 34, spent time with her 2-month-old baby, police charged in and started making demands. Footage shows that she was visibly distressed and in a bad way with her mental health. Rather than dealing with the situation, involving a baby, they escalated.

Recent data shows a notable increase in gun ownership among Republican women in response to perceived threats and concerns related to current political and social issues. This trend is attributed to a growing sense of insecurity stemming from factors such as a porous border, rising violent crime rates, and economic instability, prompting many women to view firearms as a crucial tool for self-defense and protection of their families.

The shift in gun ownership demographics reveals a slight decline in male gun owners, offset by a 5% rise in female gun ownership rates. Specifically, the percentage of Republican women owning guns has surged from 19% to 33% in recent years...

CA: Supreme Court petition challenges California gun show restrictions on state property

A gun show organizing group has petitioned the Supreme Court to challenge California’s laws that restrict firearm sales on state property.

The legislation specifically prohibits gun and ammunition sales at locations like the Del Mar Fairgrounds and Orange County Fair and Event Center, with the state eventually extending these restrictions to all state-owned land.

The challenge comes after the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled against the plaintiffs, determining that the laws didn’t significantly impact their constitutional rights. The challengers, including the Second Amendment Foundation, contend that these regulations effectively ban gun shows and violate speech rights associated with these events.

NY: Letitia James loses a round on body armor

I wore body armor during my police career. In those days of yore, it was heavier and more expensive than armor is now, but armor threat protection levels really haven’t changed. The armor police officers wear on duty protects against handgun and shotgun cartridges, but absent ceramic or metal insert plates, not against rifle fire. That kind of tactical armor is thicker, heavier and much more expensive.

Behind Trump’s comeback: ballot or bullet?

The right to bear arms was enshrined in the US Constitution in the year 1787. Since then, the citizens have enjoyed unhindered access to fire arms. While Donald Trump was elected with 68.2 million votes, the over 500 million guns owned by the voters also played a crucial role in ensuring the sanctity of the ballot.

After the surrender of the British troops to the ragtag militia led by George Washington, only the losers were disarmed, not the victors of the battle who proudly carried their arms with them after the war of independence was over.

Ed.: It should be noted that American loyalists got their guns back after swearing a loyalty oath to the new government.

The Bullet We Dodged

After dodging a bullet, Donald Trump was reelected president. In a larger sense, the entire nation dodged a bullet. The Democrats were soundly defeated, losing not only the presidency but also the House and the Senate. Their sinister authoritarian, internationalist, socialist vision, with its wholehearted embrace of madness, deviance, and perversion, has been thoroughly rejected. And while it’s certainly a time for celebration, we aren’t out of the woods yet.

The left hasn’t given up. In fact, aside from their wailing and hysteria over Trump’s victory, many of their leading figures have been eerily quiet, and that can mean only one thing: they’re up to something and will soon begin a new onslaught against the forces of freedom.

The Cecil County Public Safety Training Center and Gun Range is set to open in 2026 along Route 40 in North East to provide a secure, sound proof space fr both law enforcement officials and citizens to practice their marksmanship skills.

On Monday afternoon, County Executive Danielle Hornberger, local elected officials, county leaders and project team members broke ground on the state of the art indoor shooting range along Route 40 near Charlestown Crossing.

The Cecil County Department of Parks and Recreation will operate the range as it serves the larger Cecil County community and functions as a training facility for the Cecil County Sheriff’s Office to provide a space for them to conduct required firearm training.

Okay, the November election is history and we should know by now how every race in the country turned out. So, while we stand down temporarily to celebrate the holidays, Second Amendment defenders mustn’t let their guard down because the gun prohibition movement is not taking time off.

You need to roll up your sleeves and get ready for battle because it’s coming.

In the summer of 1957, I was fresh out of college and starting my chosen profession. At the Marine Corps Basic School in Virginia with hundreds of my fellow second lieutenants, we went about learning to be Marine officers. We spent almost all of the first two months learning about weapons and how to use them. Mostly, we learned the basics of rifle and pistol marksmanship, but we also fired everything from flamethrowers to mortars.

The 1988 Bruce Willis action classic Die Hard is every serious gun guy’s go-to Christmas film. Forget A Christmas Story, Miracle on 34th Street, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and It’s a Wonderful Life, Die Hard included something all those other Christmas staples did not — guns, lots and lots of guns.

In case you’ve been living underneath a rock, the basic narrative has a New York cop named John McClane traveling to the West Coast to visit his estranged wife and kids for the Christmas holidays.

Iconic Dancehall artiste Shatta Wale has criticized the police for arresting young Ghanaians who were brandishing and firing toy guns.

The Ghana Police Service arrested 26 individuals for violating Section 207 of the Criminal Offences Act 1960, which prohibits the brandishing and firing of toy guns.

The trend of toy gun play originated in Kumasi, where young people were reliving childhood memories. Videos of the activity quickly went viral on social media, inspiring others to join in the fun.

There has been growing concern about the misuse of guns and armed people committing crimes. Many murders have been committed but the guns or their sources could not be traced. Since all government guns are marked and tightly stored, some of the murders could be coming from guns in private hands.

There are more than 5,000 guns in private hands, rising from about 3,000 over eight years back, and about 1,000 pending applications.

 QUOTES TO REMEMBER
War is an ugly thing but not the ugliest of things; the decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feelings which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. A man who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself. — John Stuart Mills
