So, it’s no surprise that women are bombarded with shooting advice. This advice can be spot-on and well-intentioned, but sometimes it fails to address the mental barriers women often face.

Every novice shooter faces challenges, but new female shooters encounter a unique set of obstacles. After all, the gun industry is still dominated by men, and many women feel uncomfortable around firearms. From shopping for their first gun to awkward practice on the range, carrying and shooting a lethal weapon can be intimidating.

The National Rifle Association released the following statement on the 2019 election results:

"As if Gov. Northam’s legacy of ineptitude wasn’t enough, Virginians are about to experience life under a distant tycoon’s thumb. Candidates who proudly accepted Bloomberg’s cash—and every voter they misled—will soon realize the cost of being beholden to a Manhattan billionaire who despises Virginians’ right to self-defense. Fortunately, many NRA-backed candidates in Virginia, New Jersey, Kentucky and Mississippi prevailed over their Bloomberg-funded opponents. As the battle continues, so does the NRA’s defense of the Second Amendment rights of all Americans.”

Republicans lost both the Virginia House of Delegates and Senate Tuesday, having previously controlled both chambers. Gov. Ralph Northam (D) failed earlier this year to restrict gun-owners’ Second Amendment rights, but the legislature is now set for an aggressive push to deliver different results. This marks the first time since 1994 that Democrats have held unilateral control of the state government.

While the results could be a good omen for Democrats' chances in 2020, it may also be a tipping point in the money battle over gun rights. Everytown for Gun Safety, the gun-control advocacy group that the former New York mayor helps fund, spent $2.5 million this year to influence voters in Virginia versus approximately $300,000 by the NRA, which has its headquarters in Fairfax, Virginia.

Gun control has been a hot button issue for the past decade. With the 2020 election looming on the horizon, conversations surrounding gun control can feel like a dime a dozen. And while it is important to have those difficult conversations, it is equally important to do so correctly. With what is often a lack of proper knowledge surrounding the issue and a lack of proper use of terms, it becomes incredibly easy for conversations to become muddled.

Fear and anxiety, especially about crime, are powerful emotions in the lives of many individuals. It’s easy to worry that we, or our loved ones, could be victimized at any moment.

Individuals often manage those fears and anxieties in one of two ways: avoidance behaviors or protective behaviors.

Deadly Red-Flag laws. This restrictive gun policy objective entails expanding the list of individuals who are not permitted to own or possess firearms.

New Progressive Left Democratic Party candidates for U.S. President—namely, the front runners—all support across the board State enactment of so-called “Red Flag” laws.

The group went on to say that the association had asked Harper to stop conducting the 'audits.'

"The position of OK2A is that these audits are unwarranted unless there has been a previously established problem. While the state of Oklahoma continues to adjust to the new law of constitutional carry, we request gun owners and those who exercise this right to respect the concerns of business owners and the general public while adjusting to the return of this basic liberty.

Remember Ralph Northam? He's the governor of Virginia who got away with wearing blackface and/or a KKK costume in his 20s — during the 1980s — and who expressed support for infanticide. He remained in office, of course, because he’s a Democrat. And thanks to the results of the Nov. 5 Virginia election, Northam has a Democratic majority in both houses of the state legislature and an opportunity to implement his radical, anti-Second Amendment agenda.

Not even a man who claimed to have campaigned for Beto O’Rourke in 2018 would defend the Democratic presidential candidate’s recent promise to confiscate assault-style weapons if elected to the White House. Daniel Peters told the commissioners that he’s gay and liberal and worries that some gun extremists “want to kill people like me.” Nonetheless, he doesn’t think the government can always protect him, so he relies on his firearms. “This queer shoots back,” Peters said.

Peters was speaking in support of a proposal to make Hood County a so-called Second Amendment sanctuary, a resolution the commissioners unanimously approved at an early October hearing.

On Tuesday, Lake County became the first Florida county to declare itself a "Second Amendment Sanctuary."

The resolution passed 4-0, according to CBS affiliate WKMG.

Commissioner Josh Blake said the resolution was proposed because of the ongoing national debate over gun control and gun violence.

The resolution lists a dozen reasons for the proposal, including citing verbiage from the Second Amendment, multiple court cases and Article I, Section 8 of the state constitution.

Like the Brady Campaign, the Coalition to Stop Gun Violence has taken a back seat to other anti-Second Amendment groups, primarily the Bloomberg-funded Moms Demand Action and March 4 Our Lives. However, this is a group Second Amendment supporters need to understand, since its approach is a more basic version of what we see from anti-Second Amendment extremists today, particularly in the quasi-religious furor.

This group has been around for 45 years – and it began as a project of the United Methodist Church called the National Coalition to Ban Handguns.

In past CHQ articles we’ve explained how the Far Left has raised governing by phony constitutional amendment to an art form in certain states, with Florida being one of their top targets.

This year is no different, with Far Left-backed organizations gathering signatures for amendments to raise the Sunshine State’s minimum wage to $15.00 per hour and criminalize the ownership of semi-automatic rifles and shotguns.
