Once again, the U.S. Supreme Court has kicked the proverbial can down the road when it comes to important Second Amendment cases which have been submitted for high court review, leaving another conference session this coming Friday, Feb. 27, to possibly take up one or more of these cases.

Majority Democrats in the Washington state House of Representatives have passed a bill, and sent it to the state Senate, which will allow the State Patrol to raise background check fees charged to anyone buying a firearm, eliminating the $18 ceiling currently in place.

Authorities are investigating after a shooting occurred on Sunday night, Feb. 22. According to the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff’s Office’s Violent Crimes Unit (VCU), at 7:30 p.m., police were dispatched to the 600 block of 38th Street. Upon arrival, they found that a man had been shot multiple times.

A bill that would make significant changes to Georgia’s self-defense laws has been pulled back for more work after clearing a key House committee. House Bill 1226, introduced by David Clark and several Republican lawmakers, was favorably reported out of the House Judiciary Non Civil Committee on February 18. Just one day later, on February 19, the bill’s status changed to “House Withdrawn, Recommitted.”
