Aluminum-cased ammo has had its proponents and detractors since its introduction in the early 1980s, but demand continues among those who want a cheap alternative to brass-cased ammunition. Today, only two major manufacturers are producing aluminum-cased ammo – Federal (with Federal aluminum 9mm among its most popular) and CCI.

This week, we’re taking a deep dive into the Supreme Court’s latest Second Amendment case. The Court spent nearly two hours debating the merits of US v. Hemani. They were trying to figure out whether the modern ban on drug users, even just those who smoke weed, is relevantly similar to Founding Era laws related to “habitual drunkards.” The back-and-forth seemed to create some interesting splits among the justices and scrambled the Court’s usual ideological coalitions.

Cimarron Fire Arms Company has added another replica of the Smith & Wesson top-break single action revolvers to their list of fine reproductions.

This one replicates the first of the S&W large frame Number 3 revolvers, generally known as the “American,” which was introduced and adopted by the U.S. Army in 1870, purchasing 1,000 of them, in .44 Smith & Wesson American caliber. This replica is stamped with “U.S.” on the top of the frame.

Deputies in Georgetown County are continuing to investigate a shooting that left one man wounded Monday afternoon on Greentown Road. According to the Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the scene earlier in the day and later cleared the area as the investigation continued.

A quiet Thursday evening in the South Fork neighborhood was shattered by a violent multi-stage crime spree that ended with a suspect shot and in handcuffs. Second Amendment advocate and gun meme enjoyer Brandon "AK Guy" Herrera could soon be considered a Distinguished Gentleman from Texas on Capitol Hill. Incumbent U.S. Rep. Ernest "Tony" Gonzales, who was set to face Herrera in a May runoff election to be the Republican candidate for the solidly red 23rd Congressional District of Texas, abruptly dropped out of the race on Thursday.
