Montana Gov. Greg Gianforte (R) signed legislation banning red flag laws in cities and/or municipalities throughout the state.
The legislation is HB 809. The NRA-ILA noted HB 809 not only bans red flag laws but also prohibits cities and/or municipalities from “accepting any grants that would aid in the adoption or enforcement of [a red flag law].” |

A coalition of 26 state attorneys general, led by Montana A.G. Austin Knudsen and Idaho A.G. Raul Labrador, has filed an amicus brief with the U.S. Supreme Court, urging the high court to “intervene and halt Hawaii’s unconstitutional gun ban” by granting certiorari in a case known as Wolford v. Lopez. |

For the second time in recent memory, the parent of a school shooter is facing criminal charges because his daughter had access to firearms.
The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel said Jeffrey Rupnow, was arrested by Madison police on May 8 and his first court appearance was the next day. AT that time, the court set Rupnow’s bail at $20,000. He faces two charges of “intent to sell a dangerous weapon to a person under 18” and “contributing to the delinquency of a child,” All are felony counts, the newspaper said. |
