At least four commonwealth’s attorneys (county prosecutors) in Virginia have gone on record as refusing to enforce a new gun control law which becomes effective July 1 banning so-called “assault weapons” and original capacity magazines, saying the law—signed by Democrat Gov. Abigail Spanberger—is unconstitutional.

Almost immediately after Maryland Gov. Wes Moore signed SB 334, which prohibits the manufacture, sale, purchase, receipt or transfer “a machine gun convertible pistol,” which translates to a ban on Glock and similar handguns, the governor and two other officials were sued in federal court by three leading gun rights groups.

Twenty-six years after filing a lawsuit against the firearms industry, the City of Gary, Indiana has finally been stopped by the Indiana Supreme Court, which ruled that it will not hear an appeal from the city, which challenged a state law designed to end the lawsuit, claiming it was unconstitutional.

Devil Dog snipers from the U.S. Marine Corps won the 2026 International Sniper Competition using the MRAD MK 22 Advanced Sniper Rifle System from Barrett Firearms Manufacturing. The Marine team of Staff Sgt. Tyler Johnson and Sgt. Spencer Harrell took the trophy for the Corps during a highly competitive five-day competition at Fort Benning, Georgia.
