In a recent op-ed, a Fresno County Supervisor defended the Board’s “Resolution in Support of the Second Amendment” as a proud affirmation of Central Valley values. But for many of us, especially those grieving loved ones lost to suicide, intimate partner violence or accidental shootings, this resolution feels like a hollow gesture at best and dangerous political theater at worst. |

Democratic Gov. Josh Stein cleared his desk Wednesday of the deluge of bills passed to him from the North Carolina General Assembly last month, three of which he vetoed.
Stein topped off his veto total at 14 for this year's legislative session. One of the vetoes prolongs the extensive battle between the governor's office and GOP-controlled legislature over gun laws — an issue Republican lawmakers prioritized when they came to Raleigh.
Now that all of Stein's vetoes have been returned to the Legislative Building, possible veto override attempts could occur starting later this month. House Speaker Destin Hall reaffirmed that possibility in a post on the social platform X. |

Everyone wants an MP5, but nobody wants to pay HK prices. Here, we go over the top 5 MP5 clones that won’t break the bank.
Real MP5s from Heckler & Koch are full-auto, and very few of us are lucky enough to be able to afford a genuine transferable example. While much less expensive, even the semi-auto versions made by H&K are unfortunately out of most shooters’ price range. If on a budget, you may not be able to get the H&K logo on your receiver, but thankfully there are MP5 clones available now that will scratch the same itch for a fraction of the price. |

One person is dead following a Friday afternoon shooting in Pinedale, and self-defense is being investigated as a possible factor, authorities say.
The Sublette County Sheriff’s Office reported that it responded to a 1 p.m. shooting Friday in Pinedale between Tyler and Maybell Avenue.
One person is “confirmed deceased,” the sheriff’s office said in a Friday statement, adding that there is no danger to the public.
Sublette County Sheriff KC Lehr told Cowboy State Daily in a later interview that the shooting happened in an alley behind a restaurant, in a busy part of town but the area was not otherwise crowded.
Self-defense is being investigated as a possible factor, said Lehr, adding that investigators have questioned the shooter |

It’s not difficult to gauge the ATF’s intent after they arrest Patrick “Tate” Adamiak. Their agents’ actions and the false evidence they presented in court—under oath—speak louder than words.
It’s also not difficult to understand why the ATF presented nothing but false evidence during Adamiak’s trial. The government had nothing but false evidence. Adamiak, who was an active-duty Navy E-6, had always been extremely careful about the gun parts he bought and sold on his personal website.
We have examined almost every single major evidentiary item and charge the ATF made against the young sailor. The last items are four unfinished, completely stripped 80% side plates for a belt-fed M240 machinegun. |

South Dakota is the freest state in America, and that holds extra true for our 2nd Amendment rights. We have a long history of recognizing the 2nd Amendment dating all the way back to our early homesteaders – in fact, I just saw a mock shootout in 1880 Town! Early homesteaders used their personal firearms to protect themselves from Wild West outlaws, and South Dakotans deserve the same ability to defend their families today.
South Dakota provides stronger 2nd Amendment protections than any other state. Several recent changes to both state and federal law have extended new protections for the right to keep and bear arms – and I am honored to have been part of making those changes happen. |

In his latest attempt to disguise his immeasurable leftism, California Democrat Governor Gavin Newsom insisted that he was “not anti-gun at all” after being given a gun by former Navy SEAL Shawn Ryan on the veteran’s podcast. California Democrat governor Gavin Newsom insisted that he was “not anti-gun at all.”
Ryan handed Newsom a “California-compliant” Sig Sauer P365 X-Macro pistol, prompting Newsom to respond, “The last thing people would expect is that I respect this gift.”

In response to a series of violent incidents involving flare guns, including a house fire and a shooting over the Fourth of July weekend, lawmakers in Albany have introduced two bills aimed at restricting access to flare guns and penalizing their misuse.
Senator Patricia Fahy and Assemblymembers John T. McDonald III and Gabriella Romero announced the legislation, which seeks to close loopholes and address the growing trend of flare gun misuse in New York State. The Capital Region Crime Analysis Center reported that flare guns have been used in at least 12 crimes in the area over the past year. |

We’ve chronicled several times before the mistake sometimes made by violent criminals when they foolishly bring something—whether a knife, axe or other inferior weapon—to a gunfight.
Of course, in many cases, these attackers aren’t expecting a victim who responds with gunshots. Nevertheless, such episodes nearly always end up traumatic for the person wielding the inferior weapon, with a trip to the hospital—or even the cemetery—landing on their to-do list.

Ed.: I'm glad the girl is OK. This may be the first time a drawing compass has qualified as an 'arm' under the 2A.

America has always defended itself and its freedoms with a gun in hand. But as technology evolves, code is starting to take its place.
A new generation of Second Amendment supporters no longer visits shooting ranges or joins the NRA — they pass around blueprints for 3D-printed weapons. Their mission is to protect their homes, no matter the government’s mood.
While Americans argue about bans, laws and protests, an entire ecosystem has grown right under their noses. It’s called DIY gun culture. And it’s nothing like the old movies where weapons were built from pipes and nails. |

The Second Amendment Foundation (SAF) is pleased to announce the hiring of Kostas Moros as Director of Legal Research and Education.
Moros brings 10 years of experience to the SAF team with six years directly litigating Second Amendment cases in California. His accomplishments include helping preliminarily enjoin several aspects of California’s overbearing “gun free zones” law that the State passed to undermine the right to carry, and he was instrumental in making non-resident carry a reality for the first time in California’s modern history. |

In the heart of the San Joaquin Valley, we take pride in our heritage of self-reliance and respect for constitutional freedoms. From farmers and ranchers to small business owners and families who have called this region home for generations, the right to keep and bear arms is more than an abstract principle — it is a cornerstone of our way of life.
That is why the Fresno County Board of Supervisors recently adopted a Resolution in Support of the Second Amendment to the United States Constitution. While some may dismiss this as a symbolic act, I believe this resolution sends an essential message to Sacramento: that here in the Central Valley and across Fresno County, we stand firm in defending the rights of law-abiding citizens. |

California’s Business and Professions Code Section 22949.80 sought to limit the advertising of firearm-related products to minors. The law prohibited any firearm-related marketing or advertising that could be deemed “attractive” to minors. This law, in effect, aimed to curtail youth involvement in firearm activities like shooting sports and education. Additionally, the law contained a provision, subsection (b), that prevented the firearm industry from using or compiling the personal information of minors for marketing or advertising purposes. |

President Donald Trump has long promised to make it easier for people to legally carry concealed weapons across state lines.
While campaigning for a second term, Trump vowed to sign a bill on concealed carry reciprocity, promising a federal law that would broaden states' abilities to recognize concealed carry permits issued in other states.
"Your Second Amendment does not end at the state line," Trump said in a February 2023 video.
Congressional Republicans are still working to get legislation on Trump's desk. |
