Introduced almost a decade ago, the single-stack Glock 43 rocketed to acclaim as a slim-profile ultra-concealable 9mm carry gun and still excels at the task. In 2014, when Glock announced the .380 ACP G42, a wave of disappointment swept over the country as-- except for nerds who really wanted a banned-from import/LE-only G25-- it seemed everyone wanted a micro-compact 9mm pistol instead. The next year at the NRA Annual Meetings in Nashville, Glock made good and delivered the G43. Guns.com was there at the launch event, and I can vouch that the excitement was palpable.

However, the most alarming revelation of this survey—taken Aug. 20-23 from 1,500 adults—says 40 percent—two in every five people—believe it is “somewhat likely” that a civil war will erupt sometime during the next decade. Republicans appear more likely than Democrats to expect such hostilities.

According to the gun grabbers, 18 to 20-year-olds shouldn’t be carrying a gun. Unless, of course, those young adults are protecting the freedom of the “rights for me but not for thee” crowd. Then they don’t mind.

New York City will begin posting signs proclaiming the iconic tourist destination Times Square as a "Gun Free Zone." The 25-block business district in the center of Manhattan is arguably the busiest in the United States. Under a sweeping new state gun law that goes into effect Thursday, it would be one of scores of "sensitive" places, including parks, churches and theaters that would be off limits for guns.

More than 300 firearms were turned in by the public over the weekend of Aug. 27 during a Guns for Gift Cards event at the Vista Traffic Court parking lot in Vista. The event — held by the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department in partnership with the Carlsbad and Oceanside police departments, city of Vista, San Diego County District Attorney’s Office and the North Coastal Prevention Coalition — netted 377 firearms, according to a Sheriff’s Department news release.

A proposal to strengthen California's concealed-carry law in response to a Supreme Court decision expanding rights to carry firearms in public failed in the Assembly on Tuesday despite backing from Gov. Gavin Newsom and other Democratic leaders. But the bill isn't dead yet.

President Biden took another swipe at supporters of the Second Amendment during his speech in Pennsylvania on Wednesday. Biden appeared in the battleground state to tout his latest "Safer America" agenda to promote efforts to support law enforcement and deter crime. Although his speech was primarily focused on his policies, Biden later turned his attention towards his political opponents, attacking Republicans for opposing actions on gun control.

If I could think of one word or phrase to describe Gunsite Academy, it would be this: The Mecca of modern firearms training in the United States. Gunsite had been on my list of places to train for several years, but due to its distance from me and the combined time and financial commitment, no progress had been made toward attending. Delaware hunters can start their 2022/2023 hunting season Thursday, Sept. 1 with the opening of mourning dove, archery and crossbow deer, coyote and resident Canada goose hunting seasons, the Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control announced today. September marks the beginning of several hunting seasons in New York, including squirrel and Canada goose getting underway Thursday in Upstate, and the early bear and antlerless deer seasons begin Sept. 10 in select wildlife management units.
