According to the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms, such a change “will threaten millions of citizens with prison, harsh fines, forfeiture of firearms, and the loss of the right to own or possess firearms should they fail to comply with ATF’s policy change.”

Anyone who’s read classic books about going on a safari or vintage F&S stories on the subject, dreams of owning a Best-Quality dangerous game gun. They are guns designed to deliver fast, powerful shots without fail, no matter the conditions. Today, makers all over the world build big-bores, but few do it with the style of a classic British double or magazine rifle. To capture that for our latest digital edition, the Danger Issue, we went to Westley Richard’s & Co.’s U.S. Agency in Gulf Breeze, Florida. There, director L.D. McCaa assembled an impressive battery of handmade British guns from the early to mid 20th century.

In a letter written on Aug. 19, James urged the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, or ATF, to broaden its definition of 'firearm,' to include firearms parts kits, including ghost guns, which are firearms without a serial number that can be bought online and assembled at home — rendering the weapons untraceable.

When loading to your specific firearm, particularly in long-range bolt action rifles, you can obtain greater accuracy by adjusting the shoulder of each case to your specific chamber. The idea is that during the resizing process you resize the brass approximately two thousandths below the measurement of a fired case (as demonstrated by use of a precision mic). This allows the brass to expand to fit the chamber perfectly with the least amount of working the brass. Proper resizing extends the life of the brass, preventing it from being overstretched over and over again.

The clever engineers at ArmaLite produced a variety of cutting-edge firearms during the late 1950s and early ’60s. Many live on to this day, including the military M-16, its M4 sibling currently fielded by our troops and the commercial AR-15. All cycle by direct gas impingement, but Eugene Stoner—who is credited for the original design—knew the method of operation wasn’t necessarily the final word in reliability and performance.

In an extremely misleadingly labelled piece of legislation, Sens. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.), Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.), and Sheldon Whitehouse (D-R.I.) recently introduced “The Accountability for Online Firearms Marketplaces Act.” “It’s time to start holding accountable those who turn a blind eye to illegal gun sales on their [online] platforms,” said Feinstein. “The only way to reduce the scourge of gun violence plaguing our communities is to close loopholes that allow prohibited people to obtain guns.”

 QUOTES TO REMEMBER
The supposed quietude of a good mans allures the ruffian; while on the other hand, arms like laws discourage and keep the invader and the plunderer in awe, and preserve order in the world as well as property. The same balance would be preserved were all the world destitute of arms, for all would be alike; but since some will not, others dare not lay them aside...Horrid mischief would ensue were one half the world deprived of the use of them... — Thomas Paine, I Writings of Thomas Paine at 56 (1894).
