We’ve all heard this sad song before.
“I would like to help.. but I don’t want to be on a list.”
It doesn’t matter whether you’re on a list once the US government can blatantly ignore human rights. Our guns have failed once government slips into lawless thuggery. Call it a badge of courage, but get on “the list”.. now.
How much would you pay to make a government SWAT team go away if martial law were declared? To the guy who doesn’t want to be on a list, the time to pay is now. All it takes is regular payments of our attention, our money, and our political involvement. We need to pay now in order to have freedom and a limited government in years to come. |

Deschutes District Attorney John Hummel cleared Albert Reisert of suspicion in the August 18th stabbing death of James Drake in La Pine.
“Reisert was being assaulted in his house by James Drake and stabbed him to protect his life. Reisert’s decision was justifiable under Oregon law and not only reasonable, but darn near unavoidable.” – John Hummel.
DA Hummel also says Mark Fisher was present with James Drake at the time of the stabbing and he was arrested that day for aiding Drake in the assault on Reisert that led to the stabbing. |

In truth, it’s easy to look at Biden’s kooky advice and outlandish statements and write him off as a simple-minded buffoon who poses little threat to the Second Amendment. That would be a big mistake.
Biden is as anti-gun as they come, earning an “F” ranking from NRA’s Political Victory Fund. He is outspoken in his support for a ban on so-called “high-capacity” magazines (actually regular capacity), a semi-auto rifle ban, and instituting so-called “universal” background checks, the precursor to a national gun registry.

Tuesday marked the effective date of Alabama House Bill 47, a significant package of pro-gun reforms signed into law by Republican Gov. Robert Bentley back in June.
According to NRA’s Institute for Legislative Action, the new law—which had strong bipartisan support in the legislature—repealed Alabama’s pistol registration requirement, narrowed a prohibited facility’s authority to ban firearms outside of its building, and amended the state’s unduly restrictive minor possession of pistols law.

The Florida Courier reached out to various gun enthusiasts in Florida to determine why they feel concealed carry licenses are necessary.
South Daytona resident Damon Barrs is a National Rifle Association (NRA) -certified instructor.
Barrs has held a permit since 2012 and stressed the importance of obtaining one.
He is employed by Mason Avenue Pawn in Daytona Beach and is well-acquainted with firearms. He personally owns a Glock 19, but has plans to obtain more guns.
“A CCP (concealed carry permit) allows you to protect yourself outside of your home,” Barrs said. “I always tell people, ‘It’s better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it.’ I believe it is well worth it,” he said. |

Two armed, would-be robbers ended up in the hospital Thursday night after their intended target returned fire on Detroit’s west side, police said.
At least one of the suspects started firing shots while trying to rob the man outside a bank near West Warren and Woodmont, said Sgt. Cassandra Lewis, a spokeswoman for the Detroit Police Department.
But the intended victim, who has a concealed pistol license, pulled out his weapon and “returned fire, striking both suspects,” she said.
Both were in custody at a local hospital Thursday night, Lewis said. Their conditions were not known.
The victim also was treated at a hospital, but his injuries were not believed to be life-threatening, she said. |

On May 22, a Medford homeowner on North Groveland Avenue reported a Smith & Wesson Bodyguard pistol stolen from his vehicle. On Aug. 11, another resident reported a rifle stolen from a vehicle in the 1100 block of Skeeters Lane. On Aug. 27, yet another person reported that two .40-caliber Glock 22 pistols had been taken from a vehicle.
While gun-theft numbers are down overall across Jackson County, local law enforcement agencies say the crime is still too common and often can be avoided. |

Andy Parker has withdrawn his candidacy for a seat on the Henry County Board of Supervisors to focus on gun control.
Andy Parker is the father of Alison Parker. WDBJ7's Adam Ward and Alison Parker were shot and killed Aug. 26.
Parker said he will go to Washington D.C. next week to talk to lawmakers about gun control. Parker says one of his meetings is with Mark Kelly. Kelly is the former astronaut and husband of Arizona politician Gabby Giffords, who was shot in 2011. |

Crane Eater Community Church, located on Red Bud Road, has a group of members who are undergoing a 22-hour firearms training and safety course in light of the increase in church violence around the country.
According to Richard Gunderman, a Councilman at the church, the decision was made when a church member mentioned security concerns.
“We had a member express security concerns to a couple of our council men. The member sent a video from the NRA detailing the escalating threat that churches are facing from evil people who want to inflict death on innocent people in large groups, and especially churches, for their conflicting world views,” said Gunderman. |

Civil rights advocates at Firearms Policy Coalition (FPC) are preparing to file a federal lawsuit should California Senate Bill 707 become law.
The bill, passed by the Legislature yesterday afternoon, would expand criminal liability under the “Gun-Free School Zone Act of 1994” to handgun carry license holders and criminalize the mere possession of ammunition on the grounds of any school or college campus, even for trained gun owners who have a license to carry issued by their police chief or county sheriff. Among the tens of thousands of licensed California residents who will be immediately impacted by SB 707 are victims of domestic violence and stalking, judges, prosecutors, and public defenders. |

West Virginia Attorney General Patrick Morrisey's office is leading a coalition of 24 states in asking the U.S. Supreme Court to uphold citizens’ Second Amendment rights by reviewing and ruling a weapons ban imposed by a municipality is unconstitutional.
Morrisey recently joined with Attorneys General from 23 other states in filing a friend of the court brief supporting a Supreme Court review in the case of Friedman v. Highland Park, which concerns a ban on popular semi-automatic rifles and standard capacity magazines passed by the city of Highland Park, Ill. |

As far as I can tell, there are only three unassailable constitutional rights left in the United States: the right not to be "discriminated" against, the right to have an abortion and the right to have a gay marriage. In the eyes of liberals, nothing -- not the freedom of association or religion or anything else mentioned in the First Amendment or Second Amendment -- will ever supersede these consecrated rights.

Can every one who truly needs a firearm for self-protection afford a Kimber stuffed full of Hydrshoks? Of course, the answer to that question is “no”. The reality of our world is that many of those most in need for a firearm for personal defense are also those with the lowest level of disposable income. Do the poor of the nation have the right to self-defense? Or, is self-protection with arms a privilege reserved for those who can afford more expensive tools? |

The discharging of firearms near subdivisions in the southern part of the parish has the Caddo Commission taking a second look at its gun laws.
From the afternoon hours until after dark, residents living along Green Terrace Road have reported gunshots ringing out from the woods behind their homes, said commissioner David Cox. They’ve also seen lasers from rifles moving across their homes. The wooded area is located in the parish. |

Trump, when asked by Hugh Hewitt if he owned a gun said, “I’d rather not say.”

The City Council is looking into allowing indoor shooting ranges in industrial zones and officially started the process at a meeting Tuesday night.
The council unanimously approved initiating an amendment to the zoning ordinances, which City Planner Don Neu said, could take up to six months.
The move came after a controversial decision in May denied Lisa Gunther, owner of Gunther Guns, a Conditional Use Permit to operate a shooting range.
Neu denied the permit because shooting ranges aren’t expressly listed in the city’s regulations, which he interpreted as meaning they were not allowed. |

The Boise City Council is considering changes to the law that deals with guns and parks. Council members had their first look at the new ordinance this week.
Councilman T.J. Thomson is asking for the change.
Current code says, “No person in any park shall use firearms of any description.” Thomson says the code conflicts with state laws about when someone can legally carry a gun.

Wisconsin state lawmakers are reportedly considering a measure that would crack down on armed criminals as Milwaukee’s body count alone is now above 100, according to a Wednesday report by WUWM, and that seems smarter than proposing more gun control laws, since a new Chicago study confirms what gun rights advocates have said for years: Few criminals get guns from stores or gun shows. |
