With national elections less than two months away, President Donald Trump and other Republicans are raising alarms about potential election problems, including fraud, with arguments on both sides creating headlines, but an alarming and apparently not-so-unusual mail delivery situation at a leading run rights group’s national headquarters illustrates why concerns about the election may be valid.

An envelope containing what appeared to be a check from a company in Rhode Island to a firm in Georgia ended up in the mailbox of the Second Amendment Foundation, located in Washington state.

Yesterday the NRA and the Association of New Jersey Rifle & Pistol Clubs filed an amicus brief in support of retired, federal law enforcement officers, who brought suit against the state of New Jersey under the Law Enforcement Officer Safety Act (“LEOSA”). LEOSA allows current and retired qualified officers with identification issued by their agency to carry a concealed firearm nationwide, regardless of state law. The plaintiffs here meet those qualifications. Yet the state of New Jersey, in violation of federal law, is still requiring them to get state-issued concealed carry licenses.

Conversations between Colorado Parks and Wildlife and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service have opened the door to the possibility that Parks and Wildlife could offer a pass people could buy to access state wildlife areas and trust lands without needing a hunting or fishing license. The agency is exploring the access-pass approach in earnest after being assured by the Fish and Wildlife Service that revenues from such a pass wouldn’t result in a drop in federal funding Parks and Wildlife receives.

President Trump has long been an advocate of our Second Amendment Rights, but the incumbent is stepping things up a notch—making it a centerpiece of his 2020 campaign. “If the left gains power, they will … confiscate your guns and appoint justices who will wipe away your Second Amendment and other constitutional freedoms,” Trump said during his speech on the closing night of the Republican National Convention (RNC). “We will … defend your Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms. And if we don't win, your Second Amendment doesn't have a chance. I can tell you that. I have totally protected it.”

It’s been said that with age comes wisdom, but perhaps that’s only for the lucky ones. Birthdays come with age and for most, the culmination of becoming another year older is often celebrated with the receipt of gifts. And, once you reach a certain age (often 65), you can begin to collect social security as well as begin to take advantage of discount programs that offer monetary savings for things like meals, hotel stays, movie tickets and health care, just to name a few. But there’s another side to that coin.

In America, the building of firearms is big business. It was thus in the republic's earliest years and remains so today. Many companies have offered gun products, but continued success over the decades requires quality. Americans shoot their guns a great deal and won't buy guns, ammo or accessories that don't measure up.

One of the most popular handgun cartridges available on the market today, the .380 Automatic Colt Pistol (ACP) is an easy-to-carry self-defense cartridge. With a variety of small, lightweight compact pistols chambered in this caliber, its mild recoil and minimal muzzle blast make it a popular choice among those who carry concealed, police officers looking for a capable back-up gun, and general backyard plinkers and target shooters.

The primary reason to carry a spare is so the defender can appropriately deal with malfunctions, many of which are caused by faulty magazines. That’s because the gun’s magazine is often the weak link in the system and an essential part regularly outsourced by manufacturers. If the follower binds in the magazine, for example, it will prevent the gun from functioning.

At the height of World War II, the Soviet Union relied on the 7.62x54R, a 19th century cartridge chambered in a 19th-century bolt-action rifle, the Mosin Nagant, as well as other small arms in the Soviet inventory. However, the benefits of an intermediate cartridge were clear to the Soviets. In 1943, work began on a new cartridge design, which eventually became the M43. Today, the round is known as the 7.62x39 mm, and its adoption by the USSR had significant ramifications during the 20th century. One of the most well-known platforms chambered for the round is the Russian RPD.
