Some of the most fulfilling sights for a whitetail hunter are deer feeding in a food plot and deer eating acorns under a huge oak tree. But as we all know, acorn crops can be light, spotty, or nonexistent. Most red oaks only produce large amounts of mast every couple of years, the deer’s favorite white oaks even less often. Similarly, there are times when deer just won’t visit food plots due to hunting pressure, the rut, the growth stage of the forage, and other factors.

For the longest time, I resisted attaching tactical lights to my carry guns like the Streamlight TLR-6. Not because they aren't built well enough or useful enough for consideration, but because I exclusively pocket carry in the summer.

As anxiety surges over COVID-19, civil unrest and an increasingly fractious presidential race, ammunition is proving to be in short supply across Minnesota and around the country as gun owners stock up and more people buy guns for the first time. “Manufacturers can’t keep up with the demand anymore,” said Dave Bean, owner of Get Guns Now, an Oakdale gun shop. “The industry’s never been hit this hard before.”

This is a sad book, and a bad one, and you shouldn’t buy it. The thinking in it is poor; the writing is worse. The author “exposes” evils that, if you’ve been paying even scant attention, you already know. Expect it soon in a Walmart remainder bin near you. To summarize my argument thus far: No.

Steel-cased cartridges are an issue of hot debate – some even compare it to the 9mm versus .45 argument.
