Some of the most fulfilling sights for a whitetail hunter are deer feeding in a food plot and deer eating acorns under a huge oak tree. But as we all know, acorn crops can be light, spotty, or nonexistent. Most red oaks only produce large amounts of mast every couple of years, the deers favorite white oaks even less often. Similarly, there are times when deer just wont visit food plots due to hunting pressure, the rut, the growth stage of the forage, and other factors.

State wildlife officials are slightly increasing bighorn sheep licenses for a second straight year, amid record demand and positive population surveys. The Game and Fish Department is allocating six bighorn licenses for the upcoming season, up one from last year and double the number issued two years ago.

A 12-year-old Colorado Springs seventh grader was suspended after he allegedly lifted a toy gun into view while moving it from one place to another during his virtual class. KDVR reports that the boy, Isaiah Elliot, was in virtual class August 27, 2020, for Grand Mountain school when an art teacher saw the gun flash across the screen.

Weekend violence continues to claim victims across Chicago over the holiday weekend. As of Monday morning, 40 people have been shot, six fatally, according to Chicago police. Two men were shot during a fight Monday in Englewood on the South Side.

Spanish Fort Police Chief John Barber said 10 additional guns and over 1,000 rounds of ammunition were recovered at the Grove Hill home of the Bass Pro Shops shooting suspect. Chief Barber did not identify the type of guns that were recovered at 38-year-old Robert Smith's home Monday. Eight guns were recovered Saturday at the scene.

Steel-cased cartridges are an issue of hot debate some even compare it to the 9mm versus .45 argument.
