Guns that only work when it senses its owner is near or if it is fingerprint activated aren’t new. We have heard of and see such devices, but the down is that sometimes these guns are the guns that you want to shoot with. While there’s nothing wrong with those guns, we’re sure that there are gun owners out there who might have a favorite piece that they enjoy shooting with.

Law enforcement officers in Missouri will need to meet additional annual training requirements beginning in 2017. While it will cost more in resources and manpower, it will result in better and more-efficient peace officers. That’s the conclusion of a couple of local law enforcement leaders.

On Friday, 24 faculty and staff learned how to react and what procedures to use keep themselves and their students safe.

It is axiomatic that congressional Republicans will oppose anything smacking of “gun control,” which may as well be read as “Your mama.”Thus, it comes as no surprise that President Obama’s announcement of executive actions to clarify and enhance federal gun laws prompted reflexive, hyperbolic responses from the right.

A proposed bill to protect Idahoans’ rights to keep and bear arms without infringement is gaining momentum heading into the 2016 Legislative Session next week. Representatives Heather Scott (R-1A) and Ronald Nate (R-34A) will present their “Constitutional Carry” Bill in the first weeks of the session. Passing the bill would make Idaho the ninth state to fully honor the Second Amendment and virtually end permit requirements for law abiding citizens to carry concealed firearms. Representatives Scott and Nate worked through the summer and fall with legislators, law enforcement, gun-owners, and other groups to produce a well-written and sound Constitutional Carry Bill.

The annual Altoona Gun Show is underway at the Blair County Convention Center. There, 6 News found many, if not all the people we talked with, opposed to President Obama's executive actions on gun control.

"The concern would be, just like everyone's concern would be, the possibility that we would get our guns taken from us," says Robert Ferrence, from Altoona, Pa.

A Vietnam War veteran literally went out with a bang on Saturday, the St. George Spectrum newspaper reports.

The son of Walter "Jim" Hosey of LaVerkin, Utah, loaded a total of 50 shotgun shells with his father's ashes and fired them off at the Southern Utah Shooting Sports Park in Hurricane with the help of relatives and friends.
