"The genius of concealed carry of handguns ... is in keeping thugs guessing as to who is armed and therefore who may fight back against their violent aggression. In Hollywood and in all celebrity-dom, you have your liberty purists, too, and some of them are fairly frank about their position in support of the armed citizen. What they carry and how they carry it isn't always announced, but their position sometimes is made known."

"U.S. Rep. Bobby Rush, D-Ill., is hoping to pass a firearm-licensing bill that will significantly rewrite gun-ownership laws in America."

Further, the bill would order the attorney general to establish a database of every handgun sale, transfer and owner's address in America."

 QUOTES TO REMEMBER
To trust arms in the hands of the people at large has, in Europe, been believed...to be an experiment fraught only with danger. Here by a long trial it has been proved to be perfectly harmless...If the government be equitable; if it be reasonable in its exactions; if proper attention be paid to the education of children in knowledge and religion, few men will be disposed to use arms, unless for their amusement, and for the defence of themselves and their country. — Timothy Dwight, Travels in New England and New York [London 1823]
