Given another chance, Santander Mayor James Arnold Abines would still do what he did last Sunday: shoot the hostage-taker "without second thoughts."
Abines was well "aware" of the gun ban being imposed by the Commission on Elections (Comelec), but stressed it was his duty to protect a constituent in danger, what with the absence of policemen on the scene.

"I'll do the same thing without second thought if it happens again."
~~~
But guns are banned.
Still they won't let people be armed or they send them away for long prison terms when they defend themselves?
"Walker, 49, who has been in the Macomb County Jail since late November, sold his 9mm semiautomatic to a friend three to five years ago, but failed to obtain proof that his friend had transferred the firearm into his name, as required by state law."
If they put him away, I smell T-R-O-U-B-L-E.
"MYRTLE BEACH - An errant pellet from a Christmas BB gun pierced the heart of an 11-year-old Sampit boy, killing him, police say."
"Family members said Sunday that Terrell Frasier died after he was hit by a pellet from his older brother's Daisy Airgun when the 13-year-old accidentally dropped his gun."
"The two boys had just returned from bird hunting."
This is really, really sad. Wow. A BB gun...
Plays right into the ultimate agenda of the gunhaters, too.
WHY, might I ask, is a FOUR YEAR OLD shooting story on the newswire today? I found this one Newsindex.com, which updates DAILY. You have to read the copyright notice at the bottom to even REALIZE it's not current, too.
It's like "they" are pulling out all stops to make things out to be FAR worse than they are -- digging through the archives to do it. Am I just paranoid? Maybe, but it sure seems ODD.
Although KABA currently has a link to a similar news item about Canada's new gun registration law, that story is by a left-wing Boston Globe writer, and doesn't mention the organized resistance movement, LUFA -- the Law-Abiding Unregistered Firearms Association.
If you can read past the writing of a history-ignorant state worshipper, there is gold in this article: Canadian "indians" (aboriginal people native to the land, as opposed to white people who came and stole their land) are DEFYING Canada's pre-confiscation laws!! COOL!!
 QUOTES TO REMEMBER
When Pa was at home the gun always lay across those two wooden hooks above the door. ... The gun was always loaded, and always above the door so that Pa could get it quickly and easily, any time he needed a gun. — Laura Ingalls Wilder
