... "No offense, Colin, but you're insane. Completely and utterly batshiat crazy! And no, I'm not going to take pity on you or take it easy on you because you happened to have been shot by a madman, because you STILL refuse to take any personal responsibility for your own safety. You are a willing victim, Colin! You are a coward. You are bringing this upon yourself, and I have ZERO sympathy for you."

"Let me tell you something, Colin. You don't feel sorry for Jeff Knox. Your disingenuous sympathy is nothing but a thinly-veiled disguise for your envy. You don't have the courage to defend yourself. You don't have the integrity to be accountable for your own safety. You know he does, and it pisses you off ..." ...

"'You don't like the fact you can't have a gun on your college campus? Drop out of school.'"

"These were the words of Brady Center Communications Director Peter Hamm, reacting to Students for Concealed Carry on Campus wearing empty holsters for a week in protest of policies and laws prohibiting firearms on campuses."

"Rather than being the bastions of tolerance and diversity they portray themselves as, our institutions of higher learning have proven themselves rigidly anti-defense to the point of hysteria. Dr. Patricia Telles-Irvin, Vice President for Student Affairs at the University of Florida, issued a memorandum about the protest advising 'if any faculty member or student feels genuinely threatened, they should feel free to call the University Police Department.'" ...

"It comes out of the box tight, as all by its maker do. Every day, prospective buyers pick up Les Baer pistols, try to work the slide to check the chamber the way they normally would with a 1911, and exclaim, 'There’s something wrong with this gun! The slide is stuck!'"

"The recent tragic shootings of three helpless and innocent children -- two of them died in their mother's arms -- remind us daily of the senseless violence at the hands of individuals with guns. While so many argue that it's not the gun that is the problem, but the person shooting it, we must recognize that the gun will most likely function as designed -- to impale or kill. Its lethality cannot be questioned."

"Excelling at grammar has not seemed to be among the skills required of a Supreme Court justice. Law clerks and the reporter of decisions take care of that, right?"

"But this term, grammar knowledge is looming large. As we've reported ... the meaning of the commas in the Second Amendment could be a major factor in deciding D.C. V. Heller, the critical case testing D.C.'s strict handgun ordinance."

Supreme Court Sets Date For Arguments In D.C. Gun Ban Case

FULL TEXT BELOW:

The Supreme Court has set a date for hearing arguments in the D.C. gun ban case.

Oral arguments will take place March 18 at 10 a.m.

The court will examine the District's 31-year-old ban on handguns, one of the strictest gun-control laws in the nation.

A federal appeals court struck down the ban in March as incompatible with the Second Amendment.

At issue is whether the Second Amendment of the Constitution protects an individual's right to own guns or instead merely sets forth the collective right of states to maintain militias.

Goddard, a Virginia Tech senior who was shot four times in the April 16 massacre, was taken aback, then said: "I feel sorry for you--the fact that you feel you need to protect yourself in every situation. You're afraid of crazy situations happening. I've lived through this and I know that I can't continue in my life afraid of things. Things are gonna happen out of my control. Wayne police have found a rapid-fire submachine gun that had been missing for at least two weeks.

But they won't say exactly where the nine-millimeter weapon turned up on Monday.

It's still not known who took the MP5 gun, which can shoot 700 to 900 rounds per minute, or how long it was missing from the department's arsenal.

But the Passaic County Sheriff's Department is running tests on the weapon to make sure it wasn't used in any criminal activity.

Meanwhile, Wayne police and county officials are conducting a criminal investigation to determine how the gun went missing.

The Castle Doctrine allows people to use whatever means necessary to protect themselves and their property without fear of civil liability, but now a new law expands on the castle law.

This law, nicknamed the "Carjacking Law," allows Texans to carry guns in their cars for self defense, even without a concealed handgun license. All you have to do is meet the law's other requirements, such as not being involved in a gang, not committing a crime, and keeping the gun out of sight.
