“We have to do some things that we know the people of Wisconsin want. And there’s a group of people, mostly Republicans, that especially with gun issues, that they’re just not gonna do anything,” said Evers during a Thursday visit to Oshkosh. “Well, they’re gonna get their butts kicked out of office sooner or later, because the people of Wisconsin expect just some minor things that are not going to do anything to the Second Amendment.” |

An Indiana man was arrested Thursday after federal investigators discovered a TikTok video where he seemingly called for the assassination of President Donald Trump.
"He needs to be assassinated, and this time, don't fucking miss," Douglas Thrams allegedly said in a video posted on January 20, according to court documents.
The video reportedly showed Thrams holding a rifle and tapping it as he urged viewers to prepare for violent action.
The video also included calls to "go Nazi hunting" and a claim that "there is literally no way forward without violence this time," according to the criminal complaint. |

Under current Washington state law, unlawful possession of a firearm is not considered a violent crime. This means that criminals who possess firearms illegally often face lighter sentences, allowing them to continue posing a threat to public safety. Senate Bill 5268 seeks to change this by amending the Revised Code of Washington to include unlawful possession of a firearm in the first and second degree in the list of violent offenses. |

Repeal of Gun-Free Zones Bill Passes the Wyoming House, but Work Remains in the Senate!
The GOA-backed “Repeal of Gun Free Zones Bill,” championed by Representative Jeremy Haroldson (Republican from Wheatland), passed the Wyoming House yesterday!
GOA fought hard to pass this bill in 2022 and 2023, but anti-Second Amendment liberals stopped the Legislation.
We ultimately got it over the finish line in 2024, only to have Wyoming Governor Mark Gordon veto it. Now in 2025, Representative Haroldson has worked the legislation through the Wyoming House for the second straight year! |

Former and Current President Trump is now a convicted felon in the State of New York.
The abuse of the judicial system by the prosecutor and judge is some of the worst seen by astute, leftist legal commentators, such as Jonathan Turley and Alan Dershowitz.
Dershowitz goes so far as calling him “a convicted innocent man”. He says there were 34 non-crimes President Trump was convicted of. |

A man held on charges of second-degree murder at the Montezuma County Detention Center since May 2023 was released Friday afternoon after District Attorney Jeremy Reed filed a motion to dismiss the case.
“Life these days is confusing,” said Travis Grauberger, the victim’s younger brother. “I’m not surprised when something like this comes along and is overlooked.”

A road rage incident in Wasatch County has reignited conversations about Utah’s self-defense laws following the fatal shooting of Patrick Hayes. The defendant, Greg DeBoer, admits to the shooting but claims he acted in self-defense.
Surveillance footage from the entrance to Jordanelle Reservoir reveals a heated confrontation, with Hayes exiting his vehicle armed with a baton and knife before DeBoer fired the fatal shot.
While DeBoer’s actions fall under the scrutiny of Utah’s “Stand Your Ground” self-defense statute, the case is complicated by his subsequent decision to flee the scene and bury the firearm and ammunition. |

The bill would allow Americans to carry firearms in all states without possessing a license. More than half of state legislature have already passed similar legislation. This bill would prevent state governments dominated by anti-gunner officials from impeding on the Second Amendment.
“Recognizing the preexisting right to self-defense, the Second Amendment to the Constitution of the United States guarantees individually to American citizens the right ‘to keep and bear arms,’ including the right to bear arms in public,” the bill reads. |

A proposal to eliminate state sales taxes on firearms and ammunition might save shooters a few bucks at the sporting goods store, but it’s not needed, some Wyoming sportsmen said.
“That’s the juice that’s not worth the squeeze,” avid hunter and shooting enthusiast Nic George of Sheridan told Cowboy State Daily.
George said he spends up to $10,000 a year on ammunition and reloading supplies and cutting sales and use taxes on guns and ammo, as proposed in Senate File 58, would probably save him only a few hundred dollars. |

Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers is making headlines for pushing the same tired gun control agenda as former President Joe Biden did in response to December’s fatal school shooting in Madison, a habit which seems prevalent among Democrat anti-gunners.
At the same time, gun prohibitionists out in Washington state also repeated arguments for more gun control by mixing—and misunderstanding—the differences between rights and privileges during a public hearing on several bills before that state’s legislature. |

Guns Down America, a gun violence prevention group formed in 2016, has released new grades for its Business Must Act campaign, which assess large corporations based on their gun policies, donations, and statements about gun violence. As Guns Down America notes, “We believe that everybody has a role to play in making our communities safer — and that includes corporate America.”
Amalgamated Bank, Chipotle, Costco, Starbucks, and Target all received A’s, while a surprising number of corporations — including Best Buy, Capital One, Home Depot, and McDonald’s — received failing grades. A few sporting goods retailers received grades as well, as discussed below. |

I don’t know how Canik does it. Year after year, the company seems to consistently release new designs that perfectly meet the desires of their customers. For 2025, the newest Canik pistol is a top-of-the-line micro-compact called the Mete MC9 Prime, and Guns.com got a first look at SHOT Show.
It is only 6.73 inches long, 1.16 inches wide, and 23 ounces, but it sports a capacity of 17+1. It’s about the size of a SIG P365 XMacro. |

Columbus police have ruled a shooting justified as self-defense following an investigation by the Violent Crimes Unit.
The shooting occurred on January 14, 2025 at 4:31 p.m. in the 2000 block of Wynnton Road. 48-year-old Cory Bell was transported to Piedmont Columbus Regional after suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
...
“The Violent Crimes Unit assumed the investigation and determined that the male involved in the incident acted in self-defense and in defense of the female,” police said. “The investigation revealed that Cory Bell assaulted the female by striking her and knocking her through a glass table. Bell then directed his aggression toward the male, who is physically handicapped.” |

Reports suggest that nearly 22 million hold permits to carry a concealed handgun, a dramatic rise from 2014’s 11 million permit-holders. Moreover, this number should be set to surge further. In the wake of the Supreme Court’s 2022 decision in the NRA-supported case New York State Rifle & Pistol Association v. Bruen, law-abiding gun owners in well-populated states such as California, New York, and New Jersey are only just beginning to enjoy a right to carry.
Of course, even the growing permit figures underestimate the number of Americans who carry concealed firearms, since 29 states now have permitless concealed carry via their constitutional carry laws. |

QUOTES
TO REMEMBER |
As civil rulers, not having their duty to the people before them, may attempt to tyrannize, and as the military forces which must be occasionally raised to defend our country, might pervert their power to the injury of their fellow citizens, the people are confirmed by the article in their right to keep and bear their private arms. — Tench Coxe in `Remarks on the First Part of the Amendments to the Federal Constitution' under the Pseudonym "A Pennsylvanian" in the Philadelphia Federal Gazette, June 18, 1789 at 2 col. 1. |
