... "The fact remainsATF has the testing conclusions to execute this aborted ruling if and when they wish toin fact, if their analysis about what constitutes a United States Code-defined 'firearm' is 'correct'and if they dont know, who does?this could be a Sword of Damocles hanging over the heads of airgun dealers and owners that could be dropped at any time." ...

... "And, as implied in today's title, this snafu fits a long-standing pattern of out-of-control behavior on the BATFE's part. Just in the last few years, we have the crucifixion of David Olofson, the 'legal/not-legal' flip-flopping on the Akins Accelerator, 'economic Waco' operations against gun shop owners and gunsmiths/gun designers/firearm experts (that example driven by pure, vindictive spite), and far too many more examples to cover here." ...

"When I told Ruger that the SR40s trigger felt nothing like the go pedal on the Ruger SR9c, and nowhere near as good, the company said the triggers were identical. Same factory. Same parts. So I ascribed the difference to a manufacturing problem. We requested a second SR40. Same issue. Ruger suggested that wefd cleaned the gun incorrectly. So I sent the SR40 to our Gun Doctor for comparison. He confirmed the basics: completely different trigger feel between the two weapons. And then he broke eem down and dished the dirt . . ." ...

"Back in October, TTAG reported that Remington produced a large batch of 115-grain UMC 9mm cartridges that were too short. The company wouldnt tell us how many rounds suffered from this defect, which caused a double-feed in our T&E Ruger SR9c. And another journalists Ruger SR9c. And, get this, our Gun Doctors Ruger SR9c. Earlier today, Remington issued a safety recall for its 22 Hornet 45 Gr PSP ammo . . . ." ...

"By now, the entire Pacific Northwest should have heard or read about a real-life drama that in the final analysis is the kind of thing from which legends are made, except that in the case of Oregons Gert Boyle, the 'head Mother' of Columbia Sportswear, the legend is already there and her misadventure with an armed robber merely chisels the legend into granite." ...

"One is a proposed series of ordinances to reduce the use of guns in crimes. Adams first announced the initiative this summer after a series of gang-related shootings. "'I would have been some quiet little chief-of-staff,' Joyce Kaufman told listeners on her WFTL-AM (850) radio show. 'It's gonna be your biggest nightmare that I didn't go quietly off to Washington.'"

"Ah, yes. The woman who urged 'bullets' over ballots would have certainly gone meek when she reached Capitol Hill to work for Congressman-elect Allen West." ...

Submitter's Note: Lisa, golubushka, check your sources, or, heck, read your own piece! What Ms. Kaufman said was that if ballots don't work to ensure the First Amendment, bullets will, not that bullets are *preferable* to ballots.

"Unquestioning reverence for the police is one of the more unfortunate inculcations in our formative years. If it were not for the police, lawlessness and chaos would rule; therefore, we owe our safety, our civilization, our very lives to the selflessness and dedication of the police; thus, police are our 'heroes.' So we were told, and so we believed." ...

 QUOTES TO REMEMBER
Government is not the solution to our problem; government is the problem.... We've been tempted to believe that society has become too complex to be managed by self-rule, that government by an elite group is superior to government for, by, and of the people. Well, if no one among us is capable of government himself, then who among us has the capacity to govern someone else? All of us together, in and out of government, must bear the burden. The solutions we seek must be equitable, with no one group singled out to pay a higher price. Ronald Reagan
