"The Second Amendment Foundation (SAF) today suggested that San Francisco Supervisor Chris Daly, author of that city's ballot measure to ban guns, should pay for the city's defense of that proposition in court and spare the taxpayers that expense."

"'Supervisor Daly cooked up this gun ban measure and now that it is being challenged in court, he ought to personally cover the legal bills,' said SAF founder Alan M. Gottlieb. ..."

"'Local news organizations, the San Francisco Police Officers' Association, Senator Dianne Feinstein and even Mayor Gavin Newsom all said Proposition H was not going to stand muster under the state preemption law,' Gottlieb noted, 'but Daly pushed it anyway. ..." ...

"I DO NOT oppose hunters and people in their homes having rifles and guns. I think we all have the right to bear arms, especially to protect ourselves. And in this day and age when terrorists want to kill us here in America, we need some type of protection for ourselves."

"I wanted to clear that up because I DO NOT oppose the NRA and their right to defend your rights to bear arms. BUT I DO object to a barrage of phone calls from the NRA and the attempts of SOME of their employees calling us and conning us into joining the NRA."

"I received a call from someone at the NRA about joining the NRA and they feed me a line about the United Nations trying to take the right of the NRA to do this and that and to take our guns from us. ..." ...

"The firearm deer hunting season begins Tuesday morning, but in a few other counties, hunters are being asked to be on the lookout for another animal: wild boar. And one Bay County hunter already has his trophy pig."

"It was last year when some wild boar escaped from a ... game ranch. When you see the size of the one killed in Bay County, you can understand why some people are getting concerned."

"Nathan Rosenbrock and his brother knew right way what was scaring the family's pigs at their parents northern Bay County farm late Friday night."

Kindig's second wife, Ruby, died barely a week later, a death blamed in part on the emotional trauma she suffered." ...

At Campbell County High, two 16-year-olds were charged with 'use of a weapon of mass destruction.' On Nov. 6 they pipe-bombed a soft-drink vending machine outside the school. "Utah law prohibits most people from carrying loaded guns in their cars. Sen. Mark Madsen, R-Lehi, has prefiled a bill in the Legislature to change that. But the reasons for the change are not convincing, and the reasons for keeping the law as is are."

"It seems fairly obvious why the law would discourage folks from packing loaded guns in their cars. An unloaded gun is safe. It can't misfire during handling or be fired accidentally by a child or someone else unfamiliar with the safe operation of firearms." ...

"But Sen. Madsen and Charles Hardy, a member of Gun Owners of Utah, argue that people should be allowed to keep loaded guns in vehicles for self-defense."

"The legal loophole that allowed the killer of Leeds police officer Ian Broadhurst to produce home-made bullets is set to be shut tight by MPs today after a tireless campaign in Yorkshire."

"Ex-US Marine David Bieber was jailed for life last December for gunning down the 34-year-old policeman in cold blood on Boxing Day, 2003, and firing at two other officers using a pistol loaded with ammunition made from components that had been bought completely legally."

"The purchase and possession of ready-made ammunition without a firearms licence is illegal, but, as the Yorkshire Post revealed last year, no licence is needed to buy bullet presses, cartridge cases, primers and powder over the counter." ...-------

"William Lewinski, founder of the Force Science Research Center at Minnesota State University, showed the six-man, six-woman jury a video of a shooter discharging a gun as he ran away. In one case, Lewinski, said, it took no time at all for the shooter to fire, drop his gun and turn his body, so that any returning bullets would hit him in the back." ...
