However, the program has some critics.

Wise County District Attorney Barry Green said he worries about the greater role federal government is taking in local prosecution.

"Let me explain what is going on here," he said. "Your state government is hiring prosecutors to take cases away from the local elected district attorneys and route them to the federal prosecutors and federal judges who do not answer to the voters. This should scare you to death."

ANSWER: A dead one.

Just because people own and use guns most certainly doesn't make them very bright.

The prosecutor is willing to drop one of two charges if he pleads guilty to the other.

WHY!!! Prosecute on assault with a deadly weapon and DROP the concealed weapons charge! Since when does it make sense to make it easier for a known THUG to get off lightly?!!

 QUOTES TO REMEMBER
By calling attention to a well-regulated militia for the security of the Nation, and the right of each citizen to keep and bear arms, our Founding Fathers recognized the essentially civilian nature of our economy. Although it is extremely unlikely that the fears of governmental tyranny, which gave rise to the second amendment, will ever be a major danger to our Nation, the amendment still remains an important declaration of our basic military-civilian relationships, in which every citizen must be ready to participate in the defense of the country. For that reason I believe the second amendment will always be important. --JOHN F. KENNEDY
