The police are to set up a secret database of children as young as 3 who they fear might grow up to become criminals.

Youngsters who behave badly or commit trivial misdemeanours will be put on the confidential register so that they can be monitored and supervised throughout childhood.

Any child who is thought to be at risk of committing a crime by the police, schools or social services, will be put on the database.

"The first ten amendments to the U.S. Constitution--commonly known as the Bill of Rights--are the highest law of the land. ...no legal provision exists for the suspension of the Bill of Rights, in time of war or any other emergency. Any government employee, elected or appointed, from policeman to President, who violates it, no matter what justification he offers, is a criminal. ..." L.Neil Smith

"Getting a head start on the holiday season, airport security guards have already begun their Christmas shopping by stealing air travelers' belongings. Unless they pilfer possessions worth more to you than making your plane and avoiding an enormous hassle, there's nothing you can do.

"A security guard took a piece of my jewelry at the Spokane Airport... with approval from his Olympic Security supervisor. The supervisor called airport police when I asked for her name..." Ann Coulter

Police arrested 3 students on charges of allegedly plotting a Columbine-style massacre at their high school.

Police said a janitor found a letter Tuesday at New Bedford High School that allegedly outlined the suspects' plans to detonate explosives, shoot fleeing students, and kill themselves when police arrived.

"They said specifically it would be bigger than Columbine," police Chief Arthur Kelly said.

Mayor Brad Collins said local law specifically bans shooting guns in the city limits but no mention is made of bows and arrows, one of the more popular methods for killing deer.

"We have an ordinance that says you cannot shoot a firearm in the city limits, for obvious reasons," Collins said. "I just assumed we also had an ordinance that says you can't hunt. But when I checked, I found out we don't."

"If Japan's constitution were taken literally, they wouldn't even exist ... the past decade has seen an expansion of Japan's ability to project its military power by politicians eager to be more equal partners in the security alliance with the United States and wary of the rise of China as a regional rival."

For the past 9 months, state troopers have been firing new handguns and collecting the spent casings. Minute markings on the brass shells are identified and digitized for storage in an electronic ballistics database. The idea is that each casing carries marks unique to the handgun it's fired from, hence the nickname "gun DNA."

Police hope that this high-tech database will help investigators match evidence found at crime scenes with particular handguns.

"The stun gun will disable a suspect regardless of the person's size or threshold for pain, allowing time to restrain them," said Sgt. Mike Campagna. "It is very painful, but it is well under the range that could harm you."

The Advanced Taser, being used or tested by 1,000 police agencies across the country, is the same device United Airlines plans to install in its cockpits.

"Here are a few ideas to keep in mind heading into the hunt. These simple things can help us earn hunting the respect it deserves in society today..."

*Send in deer kill report cards...
*Report violators...
*Ask permission before hunting private land...
*Share the harvest...
*Hunt safe...
- Treat every gun with the respect due a loaded one;
- Always be 100% sure of your target;
- Never point a gun at anything you do not intend to shoot.

Prime Minister Chretien pulled Canadian troops from the Afghanistan war effort because "We don't want to get in a big fight over there".

You should read how your neighbour to the north treats anyone who calls his/her self a "refugee".

At the bottom of the editorial are email links to the Prime Minister and Minister of Immigration. Please write them, but don't expect an intelligent reply. The Liberal party knows what's best, and won't listen to other opinons.

 QUOTES TO REMEMBER
Without freedom there will be no firearms among the people; without firearms among the people there will not long be freedom. Certainly there are examples of countries where the people remain relatively free after the people have been disarmed, but there are no examples of a totalitarian state being created or existing where the people have personal arms. — Neal Knox
