"Here is a thought: How about the left and right make a deal? In exchange for not invading any more Arab countries, we stop all aid -- military, economic, whatever -- to Israel. Then we remove all US troops from the region. At this point the Middle East will probably have big wars anyway, (and personally, I don't care who wins or loses), but at least the cost to US taxpayers will be zero dollars."

Had one or both victims been armed, they may not have been subjected to threats on their child's life and wouldn't have had to wait for police to arrive and save them.
