"Given the state in which we find our nation of late, it might seem difficult for a liberty loving patriot to think of much for which to be thankful. The fact remains, though, that things could be worse--vastly worse (and, admittedly, might still get vastly worse). One of the main reasons that the 'vastly worse' scenario has not yet become reality is that government officials cannot count on their own impunity--cannot rely on the notion that there is no line that they cannot cross without facing very personal consequences, courtesy of an angry--and armed--citizenry." ...

"When you’re handloading ammunition, there has never really been a good way to check that all of the dimensions are correct. Sure you can grab your calipers and check every dimension of every finished round, but that’s time consuming and inefficient. Especially when you’re slicing up existing 5.56 brass into 300 BLK brass, you want to be doubly sure that your handloads will fit perfectly in the chamber without any issues. That’s where something like this slot gauge comes in handy, from Sheridan Engineering . . ." ...

"After having banned concealed carry in all of their stadiums, and even ordering women to give up their purse in favor of see-through plastic bags, (don’t ya feel safer now?) the NFL has accelerated its war on gun ownership and the Second Amendment by trampling on the First Amendment. The League has refused to air a commercial for Daniel Defense in the 2014 Super Bowl on grounds that the weapons manufacturer violates the NFL regulations for 'prohibited advertising categories'. Their rejection, however, appears rooted in political activism, rather than strict adherence to long standing advertising rules." ...

John Hickenlooper’s blessing – took up gun-control measures in the 2013 session, opponents of the effort have deployed a multivariate response that has left two Colorado legislators recalled from their offices, triggered a third to resign and placed the vast majority of Colorado county sheriffs at legal odds with the state. In that last venue – a lawsuit brought by the sheriffs and others alleging that measures limiting magazine size to 15 rounds and requiring universal background checks on all gun purchases violate Second Amendment protections – a judge has winnowed the issues to their core by ruling that the sheriffs lack standing to sue the state en masse. ..." ...
