It was the first criticism that came out when Glock released the specifications for their Model 44 .22 LR rimfire pistol in 2019, why only a 10-round magazine? There are several possible reasons for Glock's decision. The Glock 44 was not intended as a self-defense firearm, so a 10-round magazine limit isn't an issue. Many popular .22 LR plinking and target pistols also use a 10-round magazine.

A Second Amendment challenge to the public-carry permitting provisions of the Rhode Island Firearms Act has been rejected by a Superior Court judge who concluded that licensing statutes concerning pistols and revolvers are “substantially related” to the state’s interests in public safety and crime prevention, therefore satisfying the applicable intermediate scrutiny test for constitutionality.

We've reached the end of NRA-ILA's countdown of the legislative lumps of coal that anti-Second Amendment lawmakers in Texas are leaving in gun owners' stockings this year. But with more than two months to go before the bill introduction deadline on March 12, you can bet there'll be more radical gun control to come in the new year!

Thank you for the important work you did in the 2020 elections. Had gun owners NOT turned out this past election cycle to vote for pro-gun candidates, the sponsors of these terrible bills would have been the ones in charge of YOUR Texas House.

However, the Democrat-controlled state Senate rejected the governor’s bill banning assault weapons, which included semiautomatic rifles, in January. State lawmakers originally agreed to take this particular bill up again in January 2021, but legislators now report they plan to dedicate the rest of the session to less controversial matters.

Officials said time was limited in this session due to other legislative duties, such as police reform efforts and the need to conduct business virtually due to the pandemic.

In response to the legislation passed this year, anti-gun control advocates plan to hold a rally at the state capitol on January 18th, which will be similar to the one held last January.

“This is a contested election,” she said, “and I believe that President Trump should fight with everything that he has and use all of the authority that he has as the President of the United States to make sure that we have a free and fair election. We need to be looking into these allegations; we need to be taking them seriously.”

Boebert has been a huge supporter of Second Amendment rights and has said she’ll fight efforts by House Democrats to ban lawmakers from carrying guns at the Capitol.

“The Democrats are always up for stripping away our constitutional rights and feel threatened when we simply want to exercise those rights,” Boebert told Fox News.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, under pressure from dozens of congressmen, withdrew guidance on a proposed regulation that gun industry leaders warned would cost them billions.

The ATF’s decision to pull its regulation regarding pistol braces follows a cooperative effort from 90 House of Representatives members who demanded the regulatory agency cease its “alarming” determination that “could turn law-abiding gun owners into criminals overnight.”

California Rifle & Pistol Association is receiving disturbing reports that California gun owners are receiving text messages on their personal phones claiming that today is the “last day” to get a CCW from their respective County Sheriff, along with a link to an application form. Be warned, this is a fraudulent claim!

At CRPA we have just been advised by numerous Sheriff’s offices across the state that there is a nationwide text message scam that has been targeting citizens with CCW permits.

Those targeted by this scam have received text messages alerting them that their permit needs to be renewed or changed and offers a link to provide the user's information.

Recently, I posted an article about the fact that having a gun, any kind of gun, during a violent criminal attack was a good thing. Almost immediately, there were those who posted replies claiming that the .22 LR has killed more people than any other caliber. I suspect that is probably true. However, I would humbly suggest that the .22 rimfire is far from being an ideal caliber for personal defense.

A hearing on the motion, which would abruptly end the litigation without a trial, is set for Feb. 9, 2021. Court filings outlining the Festivals rationale behind the motion are pending.

North Idaho residents Scott Herndon and Jeff Avery, in addition to the Idaho Second Amendment Alliance and the Second Amendment Foundation, filed suit against the city of Sandpoint and the Festival in May.

Rep. Jared Huffman, the liberal North Coast congressman best known for defending the environment, is now leading a call to curb the gun-toting privileges of House members when on Capitol Hill.

Citing “escalating rhetoric and threats of political violence,” Huffman and 17 other Democrats have called for revision of more than 50-year-old House regulations that allow all 435 members to freely carry firearms on Capitol grounds.
