"Bill O’Reilly is a gun rights advocate like Adi Himelbloy [not shown] is a Jenny Craig spokesperson. It kinda makes sense—until you think about it. Adi is way too sexy for Jenny’s target market and O’Reilly hearts gun control. The Foxenator wants background checks on anyone who even thinks about buying a gun, supports an assault weapons ban and considers firearms training a must. In other words, O’Reilly’s happy to erect 'common sense' barriers for Americans seeking to exercise their allegedly un-infringable Constitutionally protected right to keep and bear arms. Why? Because the Foxpopulist doesn’t trust the people with guns. He believes in gat gatekeepers. In this the anti-spinmeister is hardly alone . . ." ...

... "Bring up national concealed carry reciprocity, and the anti-self-defense lobby suddenly falls in love with 'states' rights' ... Bring up the Firearms Freedom Act, and they suddenly remember their adoration for a federal government so powerful that it does not even have to find Constitutional justification for any regulation its whims dictate."

"There is no contradiction in arguing that the federal government must be kept on the short leash of the Constitutional limits on its powers, and simultaneously arguing that the Second Amendment's guarantee of the right to both keep and bear arms, incorporated by the Fourteenth Amendment ... demands federal protection of that right." ...

"One of the things we did this week at the Crimson Trace / Ruger / Safarilant / Leupold / DoubleTap Gunsite event was shooting through intermediate barriers. Part of that was shooting through a windshield to see how much a bullet will deflect (change direction) when it moves through that rather tough piece of engineering. But as we found out, the answer was 'not a whole lot.'" ...

"While I was out in the Arizona desert for the Gunsite event, news broke over at Ammoland that ATI is making a 300 AAC Blackout AR-15. The laser module is located at the top of the grip panel on the opposite side as the cylinder latch. There is a very small switch at the base of the grip that can disable the laser." ...

"As a firearms instructor for the Boy Scouts, I've worked with thousands of kids who were learning to shoot. At Philmont Scout Ranch, in New Mexico, we shot .50 caliber black powder rifles, 12 gauge shotguns, and .30-06 rifles. Anyway, while having an announced candidate for Jesse Jackson Jr.’s now vacant US House seat caught in America’s most ungunfriendly city with, yes, a gun tickles our schadenfreude bone something fierce, Trotter’s not the string-up-the-gun-nuts kind of Illinois pol everyone assumes him to be . . ." ...

"At first blush, Texas burglary suspect calls 911 on homeowner with gun seems to be a 'funny' defensive gun use (DGU) story. You know, bad guy gets his just deserts with an extra helping of humiliation. A closer look reveals some bad decisions by the homeowners in question. To wit: Mrs. Gerow’s comment to the 911 operator: 'Yeah, hurry up. He [burglar Christopher Lance Moore] says my husband’s fixing to shoot him.' The chances of the Gerows facing blowback for grabbing the burglar’s keys and holding him at gunpoint in the Lone Star State are slim to none, and slim just left town. That said, civil suit. And it should be said . . ."
